What started as a passion for gems and minerals and a life-long love of silver grew into a business in 2003. Along the way, I've been lucky to have many wonderful teachers whose knowledge inspired me to grow as a metalsmith and lapidarist.
Sowilo Artisan Jewelry creates handcrafted silver jewelry. We restore and repair broken jewelry and cut and polish stones and mineral specimens for custom designs and repairs. My love of gems and minerals goes back to childhood when I would pick up a pretty rock and put it in my pocket. The mentors in my life taught me about gems and minerals and how to cut and polish them. My stone cutting hobby turned into a profession when I took a job in a lapidary where I refined my skills and learned new techniques.
There's nothing better than breathing new life into a broken well-loved piece of jewelry or old family heirloom. We love repairing and restoring old jewelry. It stems from our great respect for the craftsmanship that it took to originally create the piece. Many of the items in the For Sale Gallery are wonderful old Southwestern and Native American pieces that we restored.

I brought a family heirloom to Bonnie and asked her to create a new piece from the stone. The piece was extremely meaningful to me, and I trusted Bonnie implicitly to create something beautiful from it. The stone was very fragile and required immense care to remove it from the ring and turn it into a pendant that would keep the integrity and preserve the stone. She did an amazing job. I cried when she showed me the final piece. She not only does professional, creative work, but she understands the emotion that sometimes comes with our most precious jewelry.

Very friendly and helpful owner, her pieces of jewelry are beautifully designed and the price range very reasonable. I admired some earrings that she showed on the web site but unfortunately they were out of stock. She felt my dilemma and custom made a pair that were perfect for my wife, they are now her "go to earring." A warm place to shop. I highly recommend.

Had Bonnie create a beautiful band to pair with my unusual wedding ring! The ring is spectacular! Struggled for years to find someone who could do it and do a great job. Bonnie did it with ease, joy and perfection. To top it off... we did it between Alaska and Denver! I will never use another jeweler again. We are from St. Louis and had been dating for about 10 years when we decided to get engaged while in Denver. We were not interested in a "typical", mass-produced engagement ring. We wanted something unique to us. We thought of trying to find a local artist and as luck would have it, we found Sowilo. We stopped in to see Bonnie and discussed our interests. Bonnie designed and crafted a beautiful ring for my daughter's husband, here is note from her: Bonnie did an amazing job with my husbands unique idea for a wedding band! She worked with him to incorporate foudre barrel wood into a zirconium band and it came out absolutely perfect. Bonnie was great to work with and we could not have asked for a better end product! Several months ago I was working on a fashion project and I had two raw garnet stones that I wanted to include in my garment and I wanted them be cut into round shapes. I went to four different gemstone cutting places and they refused to cut my stones because they were full of cracks. I was desperate because my project's deadline was approaching and my stones were still not cut.
