John at Island Auto has helped us keep our van going when we were ready to throw in the towel on it. We first had the alternator go out. We had it towed to Boardwalk Honda where we were told it was going to cost $1600. We knew that was way high so we ended up towing it (again) to Island Auto on a recommendation. John's estimate was $800! Half! He got it done quickly and it ran great. Then our brakes started acting up, again John fixed us up. He's very fair and gets the job done asap!

I’ve used a island Motors since they opened ( turn of this century?). I have an old Honda that we only use seasonally. We normally drive very few miles. So, I’m always looking to keep it reliable and safe without spending “new car” maintenance money.
In the latest instance, I had a drive belt that slipped because it overheated.The overheating was apparently due to a water pump pulley that had some corrosion on its surface. The dealer told me that in order to solve the problem, I had to replace the water pump….What? There wasn’t anything wrong with the water pump.

I was in OC on vacation and thought I possibly needed new ball joints. I was concerned as I live in ME and would be driving home in a few days. They took a look at my van and told me that I just had a warped brake rotor. They easily could've lied and said that I did need ball joints, which would've meant a costly repair. I really appreciate their honesty! Honest mechanics seem to be few and far between nowadays, especially in ME.

Good. Honest. Reasonable. What more can you ask of an auto mechanic? And yet those people are so hard to find. We had a disabled car in Ocean City. A mile away was Island Auto. John was super nice on the phone and we felt comfortable having the car towed there on Saturday. Monday he had the car repaired ( a new alternator) and ready to go. If John wasn't 90 miles away from home, he would be my mechanic. We highly recommend this business!!!!!

We were visiting OC when our van began making a weird sound. They took us right in to check it out. He was able to get us in and out within a few hours to be sure we could get to a football game later that day. He showed us what was wrong and the price was very reasonable. I was so pleased with this business.

Let's take a moment to talk about the best experience I ever had at an auto repair shop. I was on vacation in Ocean City, four hours from my home. And my car needed help. What to do?!?! I called the closest place I could find: Island Auto Repair. The friendliest, most helpful guy answered the phone: Tyler. Told me to come on over, no problem. Met me as soon as I arrived. Got straight to work. Explained everything that needed to be done. Friendly and clear. Knowledgeable and efficient. I really didn't have to wait very long. And as a courtesy after the repair, he checked and filled my tire pressure

I had my tire light come on this afternoon and we are leaving tomorrow. I called Island Auto and they told me to bring it right over to check it out. Tyler immediately checked the tire pressures and the tire sensors. One of the sensors went bad. He was so nice and assured me it was safe to drive home to PA. Just get it checked at my local shop. I wish I lived in OC so I could go to Island Auto Repair for all my car servicing needs. I arrived on the island to have breakfast and my car started to smell terrible. I called Island Auto and they told me to come right over. They came out to greet me in the parking lot, even though they had cars in their bays and were obviously busy. They were the best and got me back on the road in minutes.

I am from out of town (California) and was passing through while on our performing arts theatre tour. We had our brakes grinding and squeaking on our Ford Transit 350, so I drove it over that morning and they took my van in without an appointment to help me out. They fully checked my brakes and found the cause of the squeaking and gave us a safety seal on the rest of of our tour! These guys are super friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place!

Avoid this business. I took my vehicle to this garage while on vacation because my air conditioner quit on me. I was told the labor rate was $100 an hour. I asked how much the part was that was needed to fix my vehicle I received a quoted price of $250.00. I called a local parts store and was told that part cost $125.00. I understand that garages mark up prices on parts but a 100% mark up is crazy. I asked if I bought the part from the parts store (which was 3 miles away) would they install it. The garage agreed. I purchased the part and took it to them to install. They claimed the part was not
