We were founded simply on the notion that Northern California has access to the best ingredients in the world and we saw no reason why the Bay Area Jewish community couldn't enjoy in that bounty. We even have a forager on staff who is an expert in local edible plants and mushrooms.

One of the biggest things that sets Epic Bites apart from any old caterer is that we only offer fully custom menus. We don't have any set menus and since we try to work with local farmers, our menus tend to reflect the seasons. Let us cater your next event and give you the freedom you need to make it epic.
When Heshy moved to California, cooking professionally wasn't even on his mind; mountain biking, backpacking and skiing occupied most of his time. While working as a kosher supervisor at The Kitchen Table in Mountain View (one of the few farm to table kosher restaurants - now closed), he fell in love with food and especially California Cuisine.

Epic bites catering did our wedding in October 2021, and we can't say enough positive things. The team of Hesh + Wendy is unbeatable!! They were a pleasure to work with from start to finish, Wendy is just beyond incredible and makes you feel like the most important people in the world all of the time. She misses absolutely nothing and hits every single detail. The food was outstanding - we had a ton of people come up to us and say how amazing the food was. I would recommend them a million times over and wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future. Truly an outstanding duo and can't recommend

This place!! We went on stair day afternoon and it was busy, we got seated at the bar(chefs table) so we got to see all the cooking action.
We ordered a couple of plates to share between 2.
Jalapeño corn bread: was good but we were expecting it to be more on the spicy side, than sweet.
1/2 lb of brisket: really good, juicy and flavorful. It is cooked as medium - medium rare.

I've been a regular customer of Epic Bites since the beginning of the pandemic when they started offering shabbat catering. I've been consistently impressed with the quality of the cooking. The menus are full of classic dishes as well as more innovative ones. The poached salmon with tartar sauce and house made olives are two of my favorites. I would unreservedly recommend Epic Bites to anyone looking for shabbat catering, or for normal catering once the state reopens.

Epic Bites catered a large luncheon for us for our son and daughter's bar and bat mitzvah. He made a beautiful luncheon, was very responsive to my menu requests and questions, and his staff served and presented the food in a very appealing manner. His prices were reasonable given the high quality of the food and attention to detail. Eleven days before the event when we increased the headcount from 200 to 280, he handled the unexpected turnout seamlessly, supplied more than enough food, and designed a room layout with three buffets so the wait was minimal for all attendees. Heshy was a pleasure

The chef and owner, Heshy, uses innovative cooking techniques and the food always impresses me. I’ve seen Epic Bites cater to small groups as well as large with the same attention to detail and passion for food.
