The Stewarts of Eckols Funeral Home are the fourth generation of this family-owned business operating since 1886. We conduct our business as counselors for funeral services, not salesmen for burial plots. Because of our experience and commitment, we know how to guide people through their decisions and help them cope with grief and acceptance.
With three licensed funeral directors on staff and a combined 100 plus years of experience, our bilingual staff assists you in creating a personalized service, allowing family and friends to come together to support each other and celebrate a life that has been lived.

Services
A determination of death must be made by a coroner, Justice of the Peace, or attending physician. When a death occurs out of state or country it is recommended a funeral director in your local area be contacted who will know the requirements that must be met if a body is to be shipped to another location.

At a time of grief you need to be able to depend on people to take care of business politely, and without worrying if the job will be done as you expected it. Mel at Eckols Funeral home not only met but EXCEEDED our expectations. He never acted like whatever we were asking would be any problem at all. His disposition is always calm and polite. Mel is a detail oriented person and gets the details right. Thank you Mel for having this experience to go as good as possible.

I'm sorry but I'm frustrated with this so I'm going to share... We lost our mom on Dec 14 suddenly... Eckols Funeral Home was chosen for her cremation... My dad decided he needed time away and was going to Dallas so before he left he and I went to Eckols. We met with a man by the nickname of Rooster. We spoke to him about dad leaving town and about an urn and so forth. Cost was discussed as well. Never once did this man say Mr Perkins there are forms to be signed and notarized. Never once were we told about permits. We thought the process was underway and she was in good competent caring hands

We recently held our Father’s funeral service at Eckol’s Funeral Home in Kenedy, Tx and were so grateful to have Mel and Barbara guide us through the entire process. Our first phone call was received by Mel who patiently helped answer our many questions and whose kindness was evident over the phone. Mel even traveled to San Antonio to bring Dad down home himself. Ms. Barbara gently helped us with all the particulars of the service and we were so very thankful for her expertise. Mr. Cox was also a wonderul addition to the team who kindly shared his fond memories and personal stories of our Dad
