We represent students and families who need help with a wide range of educational concerns. Our attorneys advocate for children and young adults with special needs, defend students in disciplinary matters, and help parents obtain tuition reimbursement for private school placements. We also litigate in federal and state court on behalf of students who have suffered abuse or bullying in an educational setting.
A parent choosing an educational lawyer has a lot to think about. You need an experienced attorney with impeccable credentials, expansive legal knowledge, and years of successful experience in the field. You want a persuasive and zealous advocate for the rights of your child, someone as comfortable tactfully steering a Committee on Special Education meeting in the right direction as she is aggressively litigating in federal court.

As you consider legal help for your special-needs child, you need a lawyer who is carefully attuned not just to the law, but to the needs of your child and your family. What is school like for your child? Does he comprehend what he's reading? Is she making progress, or running in place? Has he become isolated and lonely in school?
If a school district fails to provide your disabled child with the help he or she needs, you may be forced to place him or her in a private school. Moving your child to a private school can be a critical step in a child's education, but it is also disruptive and expensive. You may be entitled to reimbursement from the school district for the costs of this private school placement.

Great lawyer, and someone who helped me get the accommodations I deserved. If you are applying to either college board or the ACT they can be really tough. I mean really tough, especially if you do not have an active IEP, or 504 plan. Like many, I am ADD and I went through middle and high school without an IEP. I took a gap year, got my old IEP from elementary school, and drafted tons of letters to old teachers, and Julie created a solid appeals letter to the ACT. She helped me with my appeals process. Couldn't be more happy, a great lawyer, and someone who fights for her clients.
