Services
It is our goal to help your child achieve a smile for a lifetime. We hope that every visit to our office is pleasant and enjoyable, and we will strive to provide quality dental care for your child. Your scheduled appointment time has been reserved specifically for you. We request 24-hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment for a routine cleaning and 48-hours notice if you need to cancel a sedation or restorative appointment.
Along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, we recommend that a child's first dental visit be scheduled by his/her 1st birthday. It is very important to make the first visit as positive and enjoyable for the child as possible. We want your child to enjoy getting to know our doctors and team and be comfortable at all times.
For more information concerning pediatric dentistry, please visit the website for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The pediatric dentist has an extra two to three years of specialized training after dental school, and is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years.
If the procedure was in the lower jaw the tongue, teeth, lip and surrounding tissue will be numb or asleep. If the procedure was in the upper jaw the teeth, lip and surrounding tissue will be numb or asleep. Often, children do not understand the effects of local anesthesia, and may chew, scratch, suck, or play with the numb lip, tongue, or cheek.
Some children are given nitrous oxide/oxygen, or what you may know as laughing gas, to relax them for their dental treatment. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is a blend of two gases, oxygen and nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide/oxygen is given through a small breathing mask which is placed over the child's nose, allowing them to relax, but without putting them to sleep.

Dr April is such an amazing Dr !!!!!but that’s not the reason for the one star .. I loved everyone except this one assistant that was with my boy .... her name was Sydney. my son was saying how he saw how rude she was being to him while they took his X-rays . When we got to my car I could see how upset he was . He even noticed her rolled her eyes and making faces . I’m very upset about this simply because i loved it there... I hope she finds happiness within herself .

We love Greenville Pediatric Dentistry! My children have seen Dr. April since their first appointments over 10 years ago. Dr. April and the entire staff goes above and beyond to make my children love their dental experience. In addition, the front office staff makes each visit a very smooth process. I highly recommend the dentists and staff at GPD!

Worst customer service I have ever experienced! My daughter has been going here since last year. Her insurance covers her cleanings and X-rays 100%. Before I even made her appointment, I asked if her insurance was in network and I was told yes (which I have yet to find any kind of health care provider that isn’t in network with bcbs). After her… initially visit I did get a little bill for but didn’t think anything of it. After her second visit, I received another bill. I called today and asked why. The first girl told me that they are not in network with anyone, after I explained

Dr. April and her staff always make my boys feel comfortable for their cleanings. But the real test was when my son needed two of his teeth pulled. They helped him understand everything that was going on and answered his questions. And before I could even blink it seems, it was done! He was happy and so proud of his bravery. It’s a huge testament to doctors and hygienists that know what kids need!
