Well...I've been going to Omar's for the past two years and they have never done me dirty until this past year. The last two times I've been there I ask for a simple scissor trim on the top and a 2-3 fade. This past time I got this guy named Ali. He asked if my back and sides were good and I said "yes, perfect". Shortly after he continues to cut my sides and back and all of my hair is practically gone. He cut way too far up on my sides and way too far up in the back. Where I have buzzed hair all the way to the top of my head. Where the heck did all of my hair go???? It

Jerry Taylor is by far THE BEST barber I have ever had. I walk in looking like a scrub and walk out looking like a stud EVERY SINGLE TIME (directly after leaving a stranger rolled down her window and told me I had a commercial grade haircut) Jerry is incredibly skilled and takes his time to give you an excellent haircut. Some people will rush you in and out of the chair while he gives you a tailor fit experience. Do yourself and everyone else looking at you a favor and book an appointment with Jerry.

The lady at the front desk was helpful and the barber that I had was extremely nice; I made good conversation with him, but that was about the extent of it. The wait time is ridiculously long. I waited for almost an hour. When I was getting my hair cut, I specifically asked for a mid taper fade, and I ended up with my sides simply being shaved and the top left too long and thinned out. He told me he had been cutting hair since he was 15 so I assumed he knew what a mid taper fade was. I walked out looking like a mushroom. I would've been better off not getting my hair cut at all. Ali is great. Our 2 1/2 year old is scared of getting his hair cut but Ali makes him feel comfortable and is always super nice. We are pleased with how he treats him and how he cuts his hair. We went for a 3rd time and our son didn't want his hair cut. We offered to pay for our appointment but Ali didn't want us to pay for a haircut he didn't do. Even though we offered to pay, that's the kind of service you can expect at this establishment. Great people all around.

I would give this place negative stars if possible. We pulled up over an hour before they closed and some guy said they weren't taking anyone else for the day even though several worker were standing outside talking and doing nothing. He then proceeded to say they aren't open tomorrow when the hours posted clearly state they are. Guess you have to have a certain "look" to get in which speaks volumes to their customer service.

Talented, knowledgeable, and friendly barbers willing to do the best work to make you look your best. Got my haircut multiple times here while going to JMU and I gotta say, I'll miss it now that I'm out of the area. I certainly recommend Omar's professional service to anyone looking for a haircut in Harrisonburg.

I have been going to Omar's for the past two years or so since my freshman year at JMU and strongly believe this is one of, if not THE best barber shop in Harrisonburg! Before coming to college, I had long hair and had been going to a hair salon in my hometown for years and was nervous about getting my hair cut any shorter; however, after coming in as a walk-in one day, talking with the barber I now see regularly, Ali, and seeing the vibe of the place I was confident in cutting my hair short here. After that haircut, my confidence was considerably higher and was definitely more comfortable

They do an amazing job on my 3 sons' hair and my husband's hair. I have 2 boys that have terrible cowlicks so cutting their hair is a challenge. Both have had very bad cuts at other barbers. They have been to a couple different barbers at Omar'a and all of them did an amazing job.
I convinced my husband to go here after I got the boys hair cut here. He went to a salon before that never cut the back straight. Omar's is spot on. He said it was the best hair cut he ever had. I would agree. Same with the boys.

Heard amazing things about Omar's when my significant other was looking for a barber shop in town. Went in as a walk-in for the first time and he ended up seeing the only woman stylist there. She barely spoke to him the entire time, didn't understand what he asked for or ask him any follow up questions. Shaved his beard about 2 inches shorter than he asked for. She used a straight razor on his neck and face with no cream or gel, and ran it against the grain of his hair. I'm editing my original review as I was called by Omar the owner, he had me come in and correct my hair cut which I wasn't happy with, we got to know one another and i have to say this guy knows how to do business, I will be honest typically it's very hard to correct a hair cut, he did.
