Dr. Dustin Hunt is a graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. He is members of local, state, and National Veterinary Associations.

Services
Smith Veterinary Hospital was established in May of 1976. The practice was purchased from Deloss Fireoved, DVM, at which point the practice primarily focused on large animals. The building consisted of a waiting room and one general purpose room used as an exam room, pharmacy, lab area and surgery room.
We can collect and prepare canine semen for fresh chilled shipment. For best results a pre-shipment evaluation is recommended before shipping a male for the first time. Semen shipments are sent overnight via Fed-Ex. Collection and freezing of canine semen is offered at Smith Veterinary Hospital. We prepare and ship your frozen semen as well.
The initial collection is $480 which includes the collection, full semen evaluation, processing for freezing, Brucellosis testing, AKC paperwork (if required) and the first year of storage. Subsequent collections for freezing are $275 each. Brucellosis testing must be current within 6 months of each collection.

They sold me expired kitten formula. When I messaged them about it, they asked me to call the vet. But I wasn't interested in being charged for such a thing. Anyways, I struggled the whole time to get the chunks out of her milk. Swiss City Vet just sold me a brand new can of formula that has given me 0 chunks already. I'm much happier at Swiss City Vet. If they hadn't run out of formula, I wouldn't have bought it from here. They can check their products before selling them, just like any other business.

Not happy with their response on emergency care for my dog, they didn't have time for her, not happy with Dr. Hunt , end up having to take her to different vet ( mind you Smith vet. Hospital has been my vet for many, many years when Madge was there ) end up losing my dog which was a family member for 10 years, she was my baby, will never take another one of my animals to see Dr. Hunt , changing vet's , where I took her , got her in right away and was very caring, mind you I just had her in to get vaccinations and checked last month with Dr. Hunt.

I brought my 5 year old cat to be neutered here and the staff was just wonderful. He's a bit of a baby when it comes to being away from me but he handled his visit well and is recovering very well. Dr Hunt called me this morning to to check on him and also made sure he was healing okay. I live in Fort Wayne and will be making this my baby's vet. The care is affordable and is some of the best I've received.

My dog was having issue, throwing up and diarrhea and they were able to get me in quickly and get some x-rays and medicine in my dog. Dr. Hunt is very thorough and explains things so you understand. He was super sweet and gentle with my dog which made me feel all the better because she was in pain. 100% recommend this place to anyone! We will be returning clients!

Positive: Professionalism, Reliability, Responsiveness
At a critical time when I thought my sweet yorkie might not make it following a brutal attack by 2 pitbulls and and extensive surgery, the clinic was closed but Dr Hunt graciously accepted some pictures and arranged to meet him at the clinic for treatment possibly saving my little Kevins life. I couldn't thank him enough

They were very helpful in taking care of our pets needs. They were very friendly and polite and also waited patiently for us to arrive after hours with our pet and also worked with us on payment arrangements as we needed in these very difficult times. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of having there family pets taken care of.

I actually just went there for another opinion on my dog Max. When I called it was kinda on the higher end of the money rate, but I wanted to see what someone else thought, so I went ahead and scheduled the appointment and Max was able to be seen that day!
Turns out he's healthy! He just has a few minor flaws, but that comes with his age.
The place was clean and inviting. They were very helpful and wanted to make sure Max was going to be okay.

My family has loved smith veterinary hospital and Dr. Madge for a long time, but the last month has made us love them so much more. When our 16 and a half year old dog died we got the sweetest card and love in… the mail and the same day my new puppy broke her leg. We got the best care for her and they were kind, compassionate, and patient with both us and the dog. I can’t recommend them enough and I love love love them!

Beware - Beware - Beware. The following review and information given can be validated with documents. Any information that is taken as an opinion is just that - my opinion.
We paid $140 for a health inspection of a puppy purchased in Bluffton. This vet is a regular to a breeder in the area. The clinic indicated they did not find any issue with the puppy and it indicated the pup was in good Heath. On the contrary - there is a generic defect with the puppy' jaw and teeth which was found by 3 different veterinarians back in AZ. It is my opinion that Dr. Smith appears to not hold any standards
