You've already taken the first step in creating the life you want by coming here. I specialize in working with adults just like you who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I am certified in trauma treatment and trained in the use of a wide variety of methods to get you the results you want in less time than you might think.

I offer services by secure televideo (*Texas residents only) as well as in person and use a completely electronic records system that allows you to view and sign documents as well as manage your schedule with me all via my secure portal 24/7. Depression is a serious but very treatable condition.
Services
I was the fifth child born to a single Mom, who was divorced from my Dad when I was two. We were a blended family although we never used that term. Times were hard but I didn't realize how hard until I was an adult. When we first moved to Austin in 1970, we lived in a crime- and drug-infested, lower income apartment complex.
Are you lying awake at night worrying about and replaying the events of the day over and over? Has anger turned you into someone you don't recognize anymore? Having lots of headaches or stomach issues that just won't go away? Depression can be exquisitely painful and isolating. You might feel like you're all alone and no one understands what you're going through.
Do you constantly feel on edge and unable to relax? Are you having sudden, explosive fits of anger? Are you finding yourself avoiding people, loud noises, or situations that remind you of something bad that happened in your past? Are nightmares and your racing heart keeping you awake at night? These are some common signs of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Do you find yourself feeling extremely nervous or worried out of nowhere? Are you having trouble sleeping or relaxing because you just can't stop worrying? Have you stopped going places or doing the things you need or want to do because you're afraid you'll have an anxiety or panic attack? Do you often have knots in your stomach or sweaty/shaky hands?
Go through the Gattis School Road intersection, pass Gino's Pizza on your right and the Shipley Do-nuts on your left. Travel south on S. Mays Street, cross Mays Crossing, pass Main Street, pass the La Michoacana Mexican Market on your right. Turn right into the parking lot of the Round Rock Executive Building (right next to La Michoacana).

This is my first time trying therapy of any kind. I'm your typical egotistical, alpha male who thought nobody could help me let alone change my perspective on anything that didn't directly effect me. After only like 3 sessions Karen has already proven to be just the professional that I could of hoped for. Someone as skeptical as me and unwilling to admit that I could use some help in something as simple as "life". This has been a breath of fresh air!

I often recommend Karen as a counselor to clients who are overcoming trauma or dealing with toxic relationships. I find her to be wise, compassionate, competent and a pleasure to work with.

Karen is a very knowledgeable therapist and her years of experience as a nurse helps her to understand medications (which is HUGE!) and the physiological effects of depression, anxiety and other conditions. I love her ability to be kind and firm in treatment. Such a great counselor!
