We started our own company last year, and had no experience as business owners prior to that. We found an insurance company (in R.I) through a google search, and it was nothing short of a nightmare. Coverage was impossible to understand, getting someone on the phone was a hassle, finding out we weren't covered after one of our trucks were totaled… by an employee - it was just the worst experience. I have been with Murphy's insurance since the early nineties. The person that drew me to the company then was Chris Quin. Now I usually work with Penny and she has always been very helpful with information to… guide me in my insurance choices.Years ago I was in the mortgage business and I can not count how many people I referred to Murphy's insurance over the years. Thanks to Teresa Berkey of the Bolton office for another great experience helping us with insurance. In the last several years, she helped us through many car insurance changes with our young drivers and several cars. We relocated last year, but came back to Massachusetts to rent an apartment for the winter. She was our first choice to help us sort out what we need for renter's insurance. We found out only after the Murphy insurance rep went to renew our home owners policy that it has been cancelled almost a year ago by Quincy Mutual. Apparently the bill and f/u cancellation from Quincy was not forwarded to our new address so we had no idea it was cancelled. Apparently there was no flagging of this by Quincy or Murphy and they did not work with us for a solution and don't seem to have a process in place to avoid this type of situation. What are we paying you for? Isn't there a system to flag policies on the verge of cancellation? I'm sure we are not the only ones who have changed
