Dr. Hicks received his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Master of Dental Science degrees at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Dr. Hicks strives to meet and exceed the standards of orthodontics by attending seminars and local study clubs.
Join the fun! We are so happy to be able to provide the services of the "brace bus" to you and your children. It is our hope that this service makes your orthodontic treatment more convenient. With this service we will provide transportation to and from local schools (at no cost to you) in west Knox County and Lenoir City.
We look forward to meeting you at your first visit to our office. During this time, we will help you get acquainted with our office and learn about your orthodontic treatment. We understand that each patient's orthodontic treatment is different, and we promise to give you the personal attention you deserve.
There are very few true orthodontic emergencies, but we are always available to help you. If you have a broken appliance or are experiencing intense pain, please call us as soon as possible. We will do our best to fit you into the schedule for an appointment. Even if you have a regular appointment scheduled, call immediately to notify us that you need an appliance repaired.
A. Teeth, and sometimes entire facial structures, are permanently changed by orthodontic treatment. It is important that the treatment be appropriate and properly completed. Orthodontic specialists have extensive and specialized training that enables them to provide their patients with professional, personalized treatments.

They have been good so far but my most recent appointment was disappointing. I got my braces off and got impressions for my retainer yesterday and we came back in today to pick up the retainer. The lady pushed it into my mouth and gave me an EXTREMELY brief run down of what I needed to do with no reminders or a piece of paper to accompany it. She talked really fast for about 10 seconds, asked me if I had any questions, and sent me off with nothing except my case and the retainers in my mouth. No guidance. Nothing.

Epic orthodontics is awesome I just had a consultation with Dr Hicks. He was very helpful and explained the treatment needed in a precise and timely manner I am definitely in the right office. His staff was very friendly and helpful. I look forward to having my braces put on in 3 wks and getting back my smile

Dr Hicks has treated two of my children. One had issues with her retainers and he corrected the problem immediately.. My other daughter required surgery to save some teeth and Dr. Hicks worked with the surgeon for the best treatment possible. He is approaching her situation very carefully and doing all he can to straighten AND save her teeth. I feel confident in his plan and appreciate his knowledge in her special situation. Sometimes an orthodontist is challenged to deal with more than straightening teeth and Dr. Hicks has the skills set to do so.

Hicks orthodontics has done braces on 2 of my kids. They are very professional & friendly. My daughter had a pretty difficult situation with her teeth & Joe Hicks was very sensitive & caring toward her. He even came in during his off time to help her through a difficult situation. I highly recommend Hicks Orthodontics..
