Trish Barthorpe is a professionally trained photographer who lives and works in the Bemidji area. Her husband, daughter and dog make up her small family. After graduating from a professional photography school in Southern Minnesota, she started her career photographing children and small families in a fast-paced studio located in a local mall.
Trish longed to become her own boss and worked quickly toward that goal. Opening up a studio of her own in 1998, Trish made a name for herself creating art from life for area families. Creating treasured heirloom portraits for her clients makes her stand out from the crowd. Trish has become an award winning photographer by never sitting back on her heels.

Our newborn sessions are awesome! We take our time. If it's one thing I've learned over the last 25 years I've spent creating newborn art is that babies are unpredictable. And I know how stressed out and overwhelming it can be to be a new parent! Relax, I got this. I've work with many newborns and can do all the work, well except for the feeding and changing!
Here at the studio, we don't just take senior pictures. We truly want to know who you are. Anybody can slap you up against a tree and snap away. We want to know what you are all about. We start with the consultation. This is the chance for us to meet and get to know each other. After all, if you're not comfortable with me how can we create anything good?
These days we all live such fast paced lives it's easy to make excuses for not getting a family portrait taken. We are always going to lose that extra weight, or do it later. The next thing you know, your babies are young adults, everyone moving in different directions at a million miles an hour. There is hockey practice and piano lessons.
At Photography by Trish we are always coming up with new and exciting ways to create artistic images that everyone in the family will want to have. Gift Certificates can be made out in $50 increments and never expire! You know Mom has been wanting to get the family together. What about that new baby in the family?
What are your hours? One of the great things about being an independent studio is being able to give our clients personal attention. This means we work with one client at a time-giving them great service, fresh ideas and Trish's undivided attention. In order to do that, Photography by Trish is open by appointment only.

Trish is a true artist. She has been our family’s go-to photographer for years. She always manages to capture our true selves- even the dog! She has photographed my son many times over the years. This year she did his senior photos. She blew us away. They worked so well together. We are so pleased with the results. Fantastic keepsakes. Thank you Trish!!
