Even though they have an advertisement on there window advertising the availability of in home covid tests the cashier was adamant that they don't carry them. She then had to ask someone who told her it was right behind her on the top shelf. They have close to 6 people working there and no one was helpful and seemingly like they don't like to talk to there customers. Small businesses should make an effort to do better for there community.

I do not know what else you could want in a pharmacy. They are pleasant, work quickly and efficiently, always make sure to ask if you have questions about your medication, and the prices are low. I even received a handwritten letter from the owner about 6 months back, when I started going to Newport Pharmacy for my medications. Just an excellent experience. Which is hard to find in healthcare setting these days, and impossible to find at chain pharmacies. I'll be using Newport Pharmacy for as long as I live in the area.

I was sick as a dog leaving urgent care in Hoboken with a prescription in hand. I went to 4 big pharmacies in JC and Hoboken and no one carried or could order the medicine. I've walked past this pharmacy for years and never thought to try them. I phoned and they were so nice and immediately able to help me. I waited less than 10 minutes and the pharmacist personally spoke to me on how to take the medication. So long to CVS, Duane Reade & others. Newport Pharmacy will be my go to place from now on!

Newport Pharmacy is the only pharmacy in Jersey city that carries Ensure.
I just spoke with Annette at the pharmacy. I can't say enough about how helpful, knowledgeable, courteous and patient she is. Annette helped me through a pre authorization as if I were the only person there. She definitely went above and beyond!!!

Don't complain about Newport here on Yelp if you expect to continue shopping there. Because I posted complaint here on this app, I was told not to come back. And I had been a customer for 20 years AND they actually did the things wrong that I said they did. Why fix it?!?!? Easier to ask me to stop going there. Mind you i only continued going there cause I'm disabled and it's close.

I just went to pick up a medicine I've been getting there for almost 2 years. They said, we don't carry this, have you gotten this before?
YES! Twice a month for the last 2 years! Don't you guys do inventories? Don't you keep a history of my purchases on your computer system? After 20 years patronage, this is how they treat you.

My experience differ from others, but I really like the people who work here (pharm tech and pharmacist alike.) They're so convenient to where I live that I can easily pick up my stuff in five minutes especially when I use their website feature. They get slammed every so often and that's why they seem to have hurried attitudes, but they really do engage with you when it calms down.

I'm sorry to read about the ordeals many have gone through with this pharmacy, ESPECIALLY since I've been a patron since I was a child. I now have children of my own and fill all of their perscritions here as well. Friendly service, reasonable wait time, and happy to say, no problems filling a script yet! Hopefully many others will have the same experience as I.

You never forget a great pharmacist. And Jersey City has Victor at Newport Pharmacy.
Back in 2002, when I was living in Jersey City and on meds for back pain due to a car accident, Victor and his staff always took care of me.
On a recent trip and had run out of heart medicine and one phone call to Newport Pharmacy and five minutes later I had my meds.
Now, I realize if you can stay away from your mechanic, doctor or pharmacist it's probably a good thing. Car is running. You're not sick and you don't need meds.
Life throws you some curve balls however and it's comforting
