We would not be the company we are today without the tireless work ethic and vision of our late founder, Mike Blanton. But that's not to say that he was new to the flooring industry. Mike's mother had worked as a bookkeeper for a hardwood flooring company and started her own in-home carpet business while Mike was still young, eventually opening her own carpet retail location.
Mike worked for his mother's company as a carpet installer during high school and college. Throughout the years, the company grew and prospered, joining the nationwide Carpet One cooperative and changing its name in 1988 to Dalton Carpet One. New storefronts were opened, one in Gainesville in 1979 and one in Eatonton in 2000.
