In 1933, Pons Insurance Agency, Inc. began operation by A.A. "Trigger" Pons who was later joined by his brother, Walter Pons. Following their retirement, in 1981, the insurance agency merged with The Brinkley Company and Brinkley Insurance Agency, Inc. later became the registered trade name. The following year Valdese Insurance Agency, owned by Joseph Mahaffee, was purchased and moved one block up the street to our office.
