Initiated by a voter approved bond program and slated as a replacement school, HISD made a commitment to sustainable design for the benefit of not only the kids & faculty but for the community as well. In terms of economy the decision to go for LEED certification was an easy one. Life cycle costing of building materials and mechanical equipment would result in lower maintenance & operations costs.

Sustaita Architects is an architectural firm which has been in existence since 1982. Our former company name at inception was Gele/Sustaita A.I.A., inc. In 1987, our current firm and company name was established. During the last twenty years we have provided services to clients within the Houston area, sixteen states nationally and three foreign countries.
Sustaita Architects approach to education architecture is to respond to each individual schools needs and curriculum to provide the most functional, effective and pleasant learning environment as possible. Over 14 years of experience with eleven schools complete. Our career in entertainment architecture began over 27 years ago with a successful working relationship as the retained architect of Six Flags Astroworld.
