Scott is Of Counsel, having joined the firm in 2020, after practicing energy law in Abilene, Texas from 1974 until his recent move to San Antonio to be closer to family. He is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law (1997) representing energy firms, mineral owners and landowners.

He has extensive experience in negotiating and documenting purchases and sales of producing properties and mineral interests; drilling and division order title opinions; and obtaining court appointed Receivers to deliver oil and gas leases and leasehold interests.His practice includes wind and solar law, rights-of-way and easement representation.
Laura Maire Bowen is a rancher turned attorney from Winkler County, Texas. She holds a J.D. and a M.S. in Agricultural and Applied Economics, 2019, from Texas Tech University. She has been with Wetsel, Carmichael, Allen & Lederle, LLP since graduation, working from Austin, Texas. Laura specializes in landowner representation, focusing on wind, solar and battery leasing.
Following a long and storied career as a U.S. Army Officer, John H. Casper graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law. While attending law school, John was a research assistant to the firm's senior partner, Mr. Rod E. Wetsel. He also earned multiple certifications in Legal Research and Alternative Dispute Resolution (mediation) as well as the law school's coveted Law & Science Concentration in Energy Law.
During her last year at Tech Law, she was a student attorney in the Caprock Regional Public Defender Office where she represented indigent clients in the rural counties outside of Lubbock. She has been with the law firm of Wetsel, Carmichael, Allen, & Lederle, L.L.P. in the Lubbock, Texas office since graduation.
