The Arkansas & Missouri Railroad (A&M) was established in 1986 as a Class III Railroad operating a 150 mile route from Monett, Missouri to Fort Smith, Arkansas. A&M's corporate headquarters is located in Springdale, Arkansas; major operations are based there and Fort Smith. Headquartered in Lake Oswego, Oregon, Greenbriar is a leading supplier of transportation equipment and services in the railroad industry.
A&M's new gondolas were manufactured in the company's Tlaxcala, Mexico facility. The 25 cars rolled off the production line the first week of November before journeying 1,500 miles to Northwest Arkansas, where they were put into immediate service. At 52 feet, 6 inches in length, the 6-foot-tall gondolas can carry a maximum load of 217,500 pounds, or 3,045 cubic feet of material.

Services
The Arkansas & Missouri Railroad is an independent, Class III railroad serving a 150 mile corridor from Fort Smith, AR to Monett, MO. Together with our affiliates, we are committed to continually improving our transportation services for the long-term success of the Company and the communities we serve.
The A&M began operations in September of 1986. A&M was founded by an investor group dedicated to creating and maintaining a first-class, profitable operation. That simple, but effective, vision continues to drive the A&M's business practices today.
Spun off by the then Burlington Northern Railroad, the A&M has since invested tens of millions of dollars to improve service to customers, enhance public and Company safety, and catalyze economic growth in the 150 mile Monett, MO to Fort Smith, AR corridor. Most rail historians recognize the A&M's tracks as part of the old St. Louis-San Francisco (Frisco) Railway system built in the 1880's.

I rode the Holiday Express on Dec 17th at 7pm. The entire train ride was stressful. Because of the possible exposure to COVID Regardless of vaccination status. I was under the impression #1 there WOULD BE SOCIAL DISTANCING when I purchased my tickets. There was NOT. I was under the impression #2 MASKS WOULD BE REQUIRED no one BUT MY FAMILY and the conductors were wearing them. This was SUPPOSED to be fun and enjoyable for my whole family as it was my children's first train ride ever. I spent almost $100 for this trip, which mind you ALSO didn't got to Johnson like it was supposed to

I took the family(4 of us) and my boys(6 & 12) loved it. We were in car 108 and we were served pizza, hot chocolate, and cookies along with singing Christmas Carol's. Such a good time. Will definitely be going back. The total ride was about an hr for the Christmas ride. Hope this helps and hope you all have FUN

My son and I took the excursion from Springdale to Van Buren. It was fantastic. We rode in the Explorer coach, which is an amazing restored Pullman. It even has a back balcony that we were allowed on when the train was moving slowly over the trestle bridges. It was a fantastic experience and I recommend it to anyone who loves trains, Arkansas (we learned a lot of history about the area on the trip) and fantastic views of our home state.

Husband and I took the train from Springdale to Van Buren and paid for the premium “silver feather” experience.
First, the train was agonizingly slow, moving at a rate of about 30 mph most of the time (sometimes slower). A round trip that could’ve taken 2 hours by car took 6. There wasn’t much to see from the train other than trees and occasionally houses or fields. There was no view of the mountains, with the exception of about 20 seconds total of the ride where the tree line breaks and you can see mountains.
Second, we paid about $200 for the premium experience where food is served

Train ride was fantastic. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Some were very young and couldn't answer guestions of guest.
Shopping on the other hand was disappointing. You would think the town of Van Buren would have many more things and stores available. Most buildings were empty and unmaintained. It's a shame, due to the architectural and age of them.It would of been great if it was more of an Hot springs/Eureka springs experience.
Booking online was ok, but when we got there, our seating was different from our group. They said it was ok tho, that we could sit together. On the train tho it was

Unique experience of the old railroad days. Went on a 3 hour birthday trip 8/28. Bought the premium package which consisted of a boxed lunch and soda. Not bad. Only issue I had was they asked us to wear mask unless eating or drinking. On the way up many followed. On way back , nearly all On train 105 did not, the conductors seemed to scared to ask many to continue their mask as none were eating or drinking. Why have rules if you don't enforce them. Sneezing, c and more didn't mind of spreading possible covid.

My parents took the kids and I on the 3 hour trip and we had a blast! It was so fun, the scenery was absolutely gorgeous and we loved hearing all the stories about things and places were were going by! We did this for my 4 year old son, cause he's been such a good boy and he LOVES trains, but we all enjoyed every minute of it. The staff were all very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. The drinks and snacks were only a dollar a piece and kept our bellies full. We can't wait to go back and take the longer trip! Thank you all for making our trip an amazing one, we throughly enjoyed
