Owned by Kali McCarthy, CPA, MTA Accounting is a full service accounting firm. The business was originally established as Madeline Tomlin Associates and has been helping businesses grow since 1977. In October of 2021, after the retirement of Mike Nickerson, CPA, we merged with Nickerson Professional Association, another local firm in business for over 40 years, doubling our staff and resources.

Kali began her accounting career with MTA when she was in high school. She graduated from the University of Toledo with a Master of Science in Accountancy in 2006. After becoming a CPA and working for 3 years at an Ohio firm, she returned to the company full time in 2010 in response to the growing demand for income tax preparation and specialized services.
Mike's role with MTA Accounting has reduced to more part-time status, but he still provides accounting & tax preparation services to individuals and businesses, with a focus on financial, retirement, and estate planning, as well as work with estates, trusts, and exempt organizations. Very committed to his clients and his community, Mike serves on the Boards of Directors for several local organizations and regularly volunteers his time to others.
