Stephen Day Architecture focuses on design, historic preservation, development and environmental sustainability. We collaborate with a wide variety of colleagues in realizing great projects. Stephen Day initiated the acquisition, project concept, design, development and has organized the owner group in creating The Penrose Walla Walla, a historic hotel project located on Mill Creek near Whitman College in downtown Walla Walla, Washington.
Located at the center of this nationally-recognized historic town, in one of the most significant, emerging wine producing regions in the world, this project includes both the complete rehabilitation of a National Register-listed historic building.

Stephen Day is an architect, developer and consultant who works with a variety of colleagues in realizing great projects. Stephen's work focuses on preserving and reinterpreting historic architecture, both in terms of the preservation of buildings and in building modern in the context of history.

Stephen Day and his colleagues work individually and collectively with a wide variety of clients and collaborators on building and development projects. The projects featured on this site are a representative sample of our experiences in working in the context of both historic and modern architecture, in urban and rural environments.
Historic Tax Credits can be a powerful tool in the renovation and protection of landmark buildings. We have worked as both consultants and developers on a wide variety of projects involving the rehabilitation of historic properties. Without the use of historic tax credits, most of these projects would never have been realized.
