Allen's Automotive was established in 1977 in West Rutland, Vermont by the Allen family. After 40 years in business, and building a great reputation in the community, the Allen's decided it was time to retire. In honor of the Allen's legacy and hard work building the shop from scratch, Brian decided to keep the name Allen's Automotive and bring a 40-year-old auto repair shop into the future.
At Allen's Automotive, our goal is to provide all the services you may ever need for your vehicle, combining modern automotive technology and a hometown feel. We work on all types of domestic and import autos, as well as diesel pickup trucks, with specific expertise repairing Volkswagen, Audi, Ford, GM, Chrysler, and Jeep vehicles.
Unless your vehicle requires premium gasoline, filling up your vehicle with high-octane gas is a waste of money. The premium gas doesn't boost your gas mileage or performance. If you're not sure what grade works best for your vehicle, your owner's manual will tell you. You can also ask your mechanic what grade to use.
Acura offers an appealing mix of performance, technology, and value with its street-performance-oriented RDX compact crossover, the TSX wagon, and the ZDX, a fastback-styled crossover. These models join the popular RL luxury sedan, the midsize TL sedan, and the entry-level TSX sport sedan in Acura's lineup.
Based in Germany, Audi builds prestigious cars and SUVs that combine luxury and sport. In recent years, the A4, A6, and A8 models have been joined by the TT sport coupe and roadster, the A3 hatchback, the Q5 crossover SUV, the A5 coupe, the R8 sports car, and the A7 luxury hatchback sedan. At Allen's Auto, our technicians have the skill and experience to work on all Audi models.

Labor rates quoted vague information when specifically questioned about cost to diagnose a vehicle that Carfax shows they have already seen less than 6 months ago. I've heard nothing but negative reviews about them in recent years and after talking with whoever answered the phone, clearly not a mechanic was very clear the bill was going to be outrageous with very vague answers as to what it would cost to fix the problem. I was referred to Allen's. When going upon my first visit, I was NOT disappointed. They not only helped me with a situation I had, but went above and beyond that. They did a complimentary multi-point inspection. I was given a printed estimate of any needed repairs, should I choose to do so, AND I was sent an e-mail of each photo they took during the inspection. They also sent me photos of all 4 sides of my vehicles before they even moved it from where I parked it. I found this gem when I was visiting Vermont for a long weekend to diagnose check engine light/electrical issue with my Mini Cooper. I had to get back home as soon as possible and Felicia and the Crew at Allen's Automotive made it happen. They were able to squeeze my car in and got me on the road the following day. My air conditioner was blowing warm air. I found you online and the reviews were great so I called. My appointment was 2 days later!! The air filter was dirty and battery terminals were quite corroded...plus a torn wiper. Small issues but along with diagnosing the air conditioner issue...a win win!!!

Hands down the single best shop for.your automotive needs. The techs know their business and all the work gets a double check by the owner. They stand behind their work if there is ever a question. Allen's will tell you the cost of a repair and the time needed to do the job. They helped me out when a problem wasn't even their problem or their work. Great people to deal with. I have struggled with bad car luck since I started driving 10 years ago. When my dad was alive he handled all the repair conversations and concerns for me and he had an excellent mechanic. Shortly after his death that mechanic retired and for the past 6 years I've paid $700 multiple times for routine brake maintenance and other things that I was grossly overcharged for. I recently moved in near Allen's Auto and when my car started smoking in my friend's driveway, I decided to have it towed there since it was so close to my home.

I am amending my review because I received a call after leaving it. I was informed that there was an oversight regarding the pricing of the Hub Assembly, they néeded to manually change the price of the part which was the oversight. They wound up sending me a check for $132, so all's good!!!
We all make mistakes, just not everyone ones up to them, they did and ya hafta respect that.

These folks are really good. Traveling in late July from the midwest, we lost our a/c (I would have lived with it but we have an old dog who relies on it.) I called our bnb for a rec and they pointed us at Allen's. I called them as we were inbound and they set us up for the next morning. Quick diagnosis and fast parts acquisition (for an older model). AND they lent us a car and a couple of rides. Our whole trip was hardly impacted at all. We enjoyed Vermont as a result of the efforts of Allen's Automotive.

Brian & Sarah know their stuff! great customer service, and great mechanical work. they'll treat you like you're a priority...even if you drive an old rust-bucket that is literally falling apart. They were very thorough with everything and explained the things i didn't quite get without making me feel "uneducated" about the car. Great prices, Great People...great garage! you can trust them to get the job done.
