Here at Dekalb Animal Hospital, we always welcome new clients and patients to our full service veterinary practice in Fort Payne. We know you will be very happy with our services. Our veterinarians and staff are devoted to staying on top of the latest diagnostics, treatments, and wellness programs to maintain your pet's optimal health.
As a new client of our Animal Hospital in Fort Payne, you can expect our full attention to your pets' needs. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we'll usher you into an examination room after checking in your pet. In most cases, one of our veterinary technicians will start by asking about your pet's medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor.
We are happy to answer any questions if your pet is scheduled for surgery or if you are considering surgery for your pet. Walk-in Monday-Friday. Boarding, surgeries (laser therapy), grooming. We are proud to be able to perform routine and emergency surgery. From a spay or neuter to advanced, life-saving procedures, you can trust that your pet is in good hands.

So very thankful for Dr McNew and his staff at Dekalb Animal Hospital in Fort Payne, AL. Thanksgiving was a bit of a roller coaster after an emergent situation that arose with Roux first thing that morning. We don’t think she would have made it without Dr. McNew and his incredibly compassionate team. Thank you all so much for all you did for us. We have not stopped smiling today. It’s stressful enough having an emergency situation, but having it happen while you’re out of town is even more complicated, but you all made us feel right at home and taken care of. Thank you!!!!! DeKalb animal hospital is a special place because I trust them with my fur babies. I can’t speak highly enough of the trust I have in the vets, techs, and groomer (Paxton). Dr. Jones has a very special place in my heart when my yorkie was sick and I could never be more thank for all she did for us to the end. Paxton grooms my Maltese and Yorkie and is very caring and always asks for my input. The girls at the front are wonderful. Everyone at DeKalb Animal Hospital is wonderful.❤️ Thank you all for taking care of my babies.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness
Had to make an unscheduled visit while traveling in the area. They were very friendly, helpful and seemed very competent. Bandit, my dog, seemed to like everyone he came in contact with during our visit. Got us in and out relatively quickly. Will not hesitate to use again if need to.

They have taken care if all our dogs for years ... Zeus, Little Bit, Malani, Teebo, Chewbacca, and now Luna. We love the folks at DAH. They have saved the lives of our dogs (especially Zeus) many times. They compassionately care for all our furbabies. They have removed malignant tumors from Zeus 2x. Thank you, DAH, we love you because you love our babies.

The most amazing caring staff, my fur buddy has a very rare tick borne disease. Dr. Jones never gave up! Just when we thought we was going to have to switch to a specialist. She proved to be relentless in… searching for the answer. Toby still has a treatment to go however no pain and getting better every day! Toby and us are extremely greatful for such a amazing staff of very caring and loving professionals. Thank you!

My dog Rebel got very very sick. I honestly didn't think she was gonna make it but Dr. Jones and her awesome staff took incredible care of her. Every time I called to check on her or went to see her Dr. Jones was always willing to take time out of her busy schedule to update me and the staff was always so sweet! They called frequently as well to let me know about her. She is now fully recovered and looks like a total different puppy. I couldn't ask for anymore than what they did for us. They all went above and beyond to get her better and I'll forever be grateful.

My dachshund Riley was very sick & I was so worried he wasn’t going to make it . I didn’t have a lot of money & y’all gave me two payment plan options & seen him that day. I love each & every one of you guys at… Dekalb Animal Hospital 💜 The vet & nurses took awesome care of my baby & sent him home with everything he needs . Here it is a week later & Riley is still here & he’s getting back to his self . He’s not eating to much but he’s keeping his food down & he’s drinking plenty of water . He wouldn&rsquo
