Clean. Nice host. Big, retro room. Comforable bed. They are trying to revitalize Route 66 business by business and we are glad to help in that slow process by staying in places doing the work. Much better than the soulless corporate chains.

Best bar in town. They have a lot of selection you wouldn't expect in a small town like Tucumcari. Also the owner is so personable....a gentlemen and a scholar.

Great staff

This former Ramada Inn is holding it's own with Route 66, located at the end of the strip with surrounding hotels as well as small shops. Mike, the owner is fantastic and eager to help out with what he can. Since it's the old Route everything is with in 2-3 miles of the hotel (diners, coffee shop, downtown).

The bar is fantastic, great selection and the staff will remember you, for sure. The locals go to this bar and it's great conversation getting to know about the

My husband and I stayed here as an emergency choice when traveling on I-40 and our engine began making horrible noises. We picked the first motel we came to, and were pleasantly surprised. We got a room with two beds for around $70, which we found to be clean and comfortable. There were a mini-fridge & microwave which were unplugged, which we didn't use, so I don't know if that would have been an upcharge.

The bathroom and room were clean, the beds very comfortable and the heater worked very effectively.

We couldn't get a late check-out while waiting for my sister to rescue

You really get a feel for what the interstate did to these little towns along RTE 66 by going through Tucumcari, NM. No one to blame, but as progress marches on, sometimes it steamrolls those who are in front. We called ahead from Vegas to reserve a room and told the owner we would be arriving late. We wound up arriving later than we thought due to the time change but he was still patiently waiting for us, and we were grateful. The room was clean, and and very much in line with the price. Ice machine and laundry on site, But DO NOT go above 8 on the AC controls. It will freeze up on you.

The owner was very nice at the front desk, and the room was clean- but I would not stay here again. The abandoned strip of Route 66 felt unsafe and creepy. Most businesses surrounding this area are closed. Rooms are very old and outdated but clean! Bed was not comfortable.

Lots of choices in Tucumcari and trust me, you could do a whole lot worse!! Trust the reviews on this one. It's clean and well kept. Bed is a little hard and the barcalounger was very uncomfortable, but for a safe hotel in basically a ghost town, it's a good, safe choice.

Read the reviews, and decided to try it. We were not disappointed, clean room, great bed. Best nights sleep so far! We were surprised to find a fully stocked bar. I expected beer n wine only. Prices were good, and we enjoyed talking with Mike. We travel through here several times a year, and will definitely stop again.

This review is also for the attached Tristar Inn (which I didn't see listed).

Route 66 has become a sad empty place since Hway 40 came along, so we had no idea what we were getting into when we rolled into this place...

Denise at the bar was a lovely break after a 13 hour day on the road. She assured us the inn was cleaner than any corporate chain down the street. We took a risk.

She was right. Our room was clean, water was hot, service was stellar, friendly, down to earth. WE LOVED THIS PLACE.

DRINK AT THE BAR AND STAY AT THE INN.

One caveat: bar is cash only and they ain't got

THIS is the bar in Tucumcari. Strong, cheap drinks (And I mean, STRONG, and I mean, CHEAP, which equals my favorite thing for a drink.) 75 cent billiards. Tv. Great dive bar feel. Awesome atmosphere. Where the locals hangout. Perfect inspiration for writing. GO HERE.
