Jesse first fell in love with flowers as a teenager working at a flower shop and her deep love for flowers has only grown stronger over the years. She moved to San Diego in 2003 with her best friend and started working at a flower shop in Hillcrest. In 2008, she moved back to her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, and opened a bar/restaurant with her then-husband.
Billie Basil has played a huge role in the making and determination behind Backbone Floral and Vintage. Bonus, she loves playing with flowers as much as her mom does! Bille Basil Bouquets are the perfect little bouquets to hand off as a thank you, I love you, or just because, all while giving back to children in need.
When you purchase a subscription you'll receive repeat deliveries. These are based on the subscription duration and frequency that you select. Your payment details will be stored securely and you'll be charged for each of these deliveries, unless you choose to pay in advance. Some subscriptions may auto-renew at the end of their duration.

Great experience at Backbone. Bought fresh flowers for my wife here and they “took her breath away” (you know that sound when someone sees something and it’s like *noise of breathing in quickly*). Yeah that’s what happened. The way they’re arranged and curated are super unique and vintage. Hard to explain. We ended up keeping them for 3 months even after they died. They kind of become a part of the room like a painting. Highly recommend

Had a rather unpleasant experience there just now. Asked the employee some simple questions including vase options for their DIY dried floral bar. Saw a pre-made arrangement and wanted to recreate the look with the same vase and planned to buy a vase FROM THEM. She informed us there was one vase left in stock and when we asked about pricing she told us we can just find it on Amazon. Very strange business approach if you ask me. Left without making a purchase and I guess I’ll be searching up the items on Amazon instead of supporting this small business as I had originally planned to.

Fantastic experience!! I needed dried floral centerpieces for a big event in a pinch, and am so glad we worked with Backbone! Their flowers were beautiful, they were easy to work with, and created an incredible event experience. Highly recommend! Also, consider using dried florals for your next event - they're great, re-useable and don't need water! :D

I am so happy that Backbone has moved into Mission Hills!
