Located just north of Onaway, Michigan, the 211 Bar & Grill is one of Northern Michigan's favorite family restaurants. Our burgers are fresh ground every day, not frozen patties. Our pizza is made with fresh ingredients with hand-tossed crust. A must try is Matt's famous "Black Lake style pulled pork" smoked low and slow.
Our BBQ ribs are becoming famous as the best in Northeast Michigan, made from a homemade BBQ sauce. We also have a complete selection of complete dinners. For the kids there are inexpensive video games and a kids menu. We still have the local wildlife displays adorning the walls and added are locally donated historical pictures featuring Onaway as it used to be during its lumber boom.

Services
The '211' was built in 1946 and was originally a log cabin ice cream parlor. Over the years it gradually changed owners and became famous for it's burgers, pizza and sandwiches as well as serving alcoholic beverages. Further ownership changes brought about name changes and full course dinners and entrees.
Inside The 211 Bar & Grill, Onaway's favorite sports bar and family restaurant plus great food, and great fun!. Besides great pizza & burgers, we offer our famous slow cooked BBQ ribs covered in our family recipe sauce. We also have a wildlife display of animals common to Northern Michigan, and something new: historical pictures of Onaway.

I took my Wife out to this place for our anniversary on a Fri....What a rip off $62.00 for 6 small fish( Less then 1/2 lb. total) 2 potatoes and a over compensating pile of soggy carrots and we had waters to drink. We ordered our usual 2 blue gill dinners and my son a perch sandwich. ....That is $10.00 each for a tiny fish. to add to that they were under cooked and soggy... from the nasty carrot slop all over the plate... wet fry's....Perch are still available and still 18.00 a lb retail.....So we could have cooked 3 & 1/2 lb.s of perch, walleye and whitefish combo at home for $62.00 ......they

Have eaten here at least several times over the years, but not since covid. They've long had a prime rib special on Saturday, so decided to have it. Massive price increase over past years -- now $28.95 (didn't realize that Ruth's Chris had come to Black Lake...). You can see by the picture that while the portion was large, it was a lot of fat. Not a great piece of meat. Came with a small baked potato, some carrots, and a wilted salad that was prepared yesterday. No bread was served. Service was pretty good, but as you can also see in the pictures, no dirty plates were ever cleared by the waiter

We were visiting in the area and just happened to stop in at the 211 Bar & Grill as they were advertising Walleye Dinners on their marquee.
We ordered the Walleye with green beans, salad and fries. Also ordered the club sandwich with fries.
Food was fresh, hot and so delicious! In fact, two weeks later when traveling through the area, we stopped again. Ordered the same thing along with some French Onion Soup. Same great service. Same delicious food!
Servers/staff wore masks, too!

First time we tried this place, and it was good. The bacon and blue cheese burger was a hit and the French dip was just right. Pizza looked good, but we didn't try it. I'd like to check it out again and try some more dishes. There is a medium variety of choices in dishes. Beer selection is decent. They have a few local-ish craft beers of which I found 2 that I have never had from Alpena. (Which I very much enjoyed). Waitress and other staff was attentive even though it was pretty busy. Overall, we were happy with the meal and service.
