Originally from Richardson, Texas, Dr. Russell attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. After 10 years of working in the marketing industry, she decided to follow in her grandmother's footsteps and become an acupuncturist.
She went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Texas Health and Science University, and earned her Doctorate at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine with a focus on diabetes prevention and management.Dr. Russell enjoys seeing a broad spectrum of patient ailments, but specializes in pain, fertility, and maternal care.

Pearl Acupuncture uses a combination of acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, herbs, and other modalities to help with chronic pain relief, women's fertility, and other common ailments. We are proud to offer telehealth services for $45. These 30 minute sessions are available to book online, and offer dietary, lifestyle and herbal consultation, as well as a few acupressure points.

Stress can affect the body in many ways, ranging from mild symptoms to life-threatening effects. In this article, we'll take a look at acupuncture and stress relief.
Your first acupuncture treatment should take about an hour and a half. Please try to arrive early to fill out intake forms. Your appointment will include 15-20 minutes to address the reason for your visit and allow for any questions. You will then experience a full acupuncture treatment. At the end of the treatment, we will explain your treatment plan, including any herbs that are recommended.

My experience with Pearl Acupuncture was nothing short of extraordinary.After 4 years of fertility issues I decided to try acupuncture before going in for another IVF. I have been doing accupuncture on and off for 15 years. I found Dr Pearl and Dr Bianca by doing a google search and based on their reviews. They did not disappoint. When I first went in I had a series of issues which included severe anxiety, severe allergies, hormone issues and insomnia. I had COVID in January and it threw my system into a tailspin. Dr Pearl talked to me and then started the Accupuncture. When I left, I felt a calm over me and was actually able to sleep a bit that night.

I am a breast cancer patient and started developing neuropathy in my hands and feet from chemotherapy. My oncologist did not allow me to take supplements while on chemo and I really did not want to take gabapentin and add on to all the medications I’m already on. I decided to try acupuncture and Dr Pearl was able to make my neuropathy better with only a few sessions! I had a great experience and I really believe in the healing effects of acupuncture!

I highly recommend Pearl Acupuncture. I was having fertility issues and started acupuncture with Pearl and within a month I became pregnant with twins. I started getting treatments from both Dr. Pearl and Dr. Bianca about 4 weeks ago for extreme and acute joint pain in my knee, IT band and up into my hip. I got immediate relief after the first visit. I have now gone 4 weeks in a row and am pain free from the original symptoms. This was my first experience with acupuncture. I was sick for weeks at that point and decided to give acupuncture a try. I’m sooooo glad I did. I’m totally hooked now as I was able to feel results that day. I’ve even started bringing my kids and husband in and they all love it! The kids feel so good when they leave that they beg me to bring them back...I’m not kidding! Pearl and Bianca are so tender and sweet and they both listen so well to everything we want to address in the visit. I feel very lucky to have found this little gem of a practice!

I didn’t have a bad experience, but it wasn’t as great as the reviews here make it seem. With that said, I’d prefer a style of treatment with a practioner that thoroughly explains what he or she is doing with some background information.
I feel that the acupuncturist doesn’t take the time to explain what she’s doing. She probably spends 5 minutes max asking me basic questions, inserting needles, then leaving. Doesn’t feel like a customized experience. At times it felt awkward trying to interact and talk to her.

Wow! I cannot go on enough about Pearl Acupuncture. I am a part-time professional classical singer who has been dealing with restriction in my voice for over a year now.
I have been seeing a speech therapist to fix the biomechanics of my issue, but sought out Pearl to help with the chronic tightness in my jaw, neck, and shoulders that has been restricting my voice. After ONE session I feel better than I have in over a year and my voice is sounding better than it has in over a year! I am awestruck.

Pearl Acupuncture is amazing! I've had acupuncture in the past and needed to find a place near my new home. After reading their profile online, I scheduled a visit. Dr. Bianca has been treating me for the past month. I feel so much more relaxed after each session. My shoulder pain has reduced and I don't feel tension and stress as I did before I started. What I love the most is that they accept my insurance, which is BCBS. I only have to pay the co-payment. Awesome sauce!!

I started going to Pearl for help with stress relief about two years ago. I'd never had acupuncture before and had no idea what to expect! The first few sessions, were - meh! But, what I didn't realize is that while I consciously wasn't noticing anything; man, was something happening! I noticed that I wasn't that Raging B quite as often. That I could get a handle on those tremendously stressful triggers and do it with even a bit of grace! Imagine that!!! LOL!! My wife injured her ankle with damages to her nerves and tendon. Good thing we found this place on Yelp. Pearl was very professional and courteous. It was painless and very sufficient. When I asked if any of her patients do acupuncture for fertility, she said about 60% of her patients do. We knew several couples that did acupuncture in conjunction with herbs/teas for increased fertility & were successful-- so we tried it. Husband did one session but wasn't "into" it. Initially, I went to reduce (work) stress & it helped me sleep better & noticeably improved my mood overall. I skipped one week & was a raging B. It can help with migraines too. Recommended by my coworker I came to Pearl to help me with my pregnancy. During my first trimester i had very little to none of the morning sickness. And we are having a healthy baby in a few months. I am SO happy I found Pearl (thanks again Yelp)! Just after the second session I was already feeling a big change. No headaches, and a feeling of overall calmness and balance. Had my fifth session today, which was a combo of needles and cupping....and that heat lamp I love so much hitting my upper back! Woohoo, I did not want to leave. You really do leave feeling like a feather ready to take on anything!

I've rarely taken the time to write reviews on yelp, but I feel compelled to write about my outstanding experiences with Pearl. I'm fairly new to acupuncture treatment, but have quickly become a believer based on her treatment. My first visit was mostly just checking things out, seeing how it felt and what benefits could come from it. I walked in the door with a low-level but persistent UTI, never believing acupuncture could affect that. Pain? Sure. Inflammation? Probably. But I walked out the door and the UTI was gone! Pearl is a great acupuncturist. I have to write on behalf of my husband because he had such great results and I have definitely benefited as well :)
He went to Pearl with chronic back problems and after only a few treatments, his pain was gone! She really has a knack of finding exactly the cause of the pain and getting results. I am very impressed with Pearl Acupuncture. I have constant stress headaches and allergies so I thought that I would give acupuncture a try. This was my first acupuncture experience & I loved it!
