Our founders are Doctor of Physical Therapy graduates of the University of Southern California Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, which is the premier program in the nation. The MOTI approach to physiotherapy is firmly rooted in evidence-based practice.

In addition to utilizing the most up to date evidence-based practices of the field, our Physical Therapists practice the study of Applied Functional Science, developed by the Gray Institute.Applied Functional Science is a distinctive and integrated approach to evaluation, rehabilitation, training, and conditioning that enhances neuro-muscular-skeletal comfort and performance for people of all ages and conditions.
Most orthopaedic injuries are caused by a repeated movement pattern that places continued stress on a tissue over a period of time. Of course, there are also single-incidence injuries. But the majority of the time, injuries manifest over time as pain, inflammation, stiffness, weakness, and tissue damage.
For self pay patients and out of network insurance plans, initial evaluations are 60 minutes long, and the price is $150. Each follow up session will be 30 minutes, with a cost of $80/session. If you have an insurance plan with which MOTI is an in-network provider, MOTI will bill Physical Therapy e-visits directly to your insurance plan with the appropriate billing codes.
Occupational therapy is defined by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) as "the therapeutic use of everyday life activities (occupations) with individuals or groups for the purpose of enhancing or enabling participation in roles, habits, and routines in home, school, workplace, community, and other settings" (American Occupational Therapy Association, 2014).
Pelvic floor rehabilitation is a specialized subset of orthopaedic physical therapy designed to treat a range of issues. Our pelvic floor therapists, Dr. Fei Zang, Dr. Lindsay Brunner, and Dr. Nancy Wong have undergone additional training to be able to perform pelvic floor examination and treatment.

Dr. Derek Nishikawa was an incredible therapist to work with. I went from zero functionality to full functionality in my shoulder in just a few months. Derek took great care to design a personal therapy experience that applied to all of my daily activities. He's knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive. Whole staff was kind and helpful as well. Cheers!

Friendly, responsive staff who really listen to your needs, especially in the in-take assessment when it's time to describe your physical pain, lifestyle and habits. I've been to several PT clinics and found this to be one of the best experiences. Really appreciated the strength-training experiences towards the end of my PT series. Will recommend to locals, enthusiastically.

I had been neglecting some lingering injuries for far too long. Thank goodness MOTI made scheduling so easy. Within no time, I was booked and was being seen by the amazing Dr. Mia. I owe them all my thanks for finally getting my injuries under control. Simply the best.

I have been seeing Dr Ann on and off for about 7 years. She is fantastic! I have followed her as she has moved to different locations. After my first hip replacement she helped my recovery time go much faster. Now unfortunately it looks like the other hip needs replacing and she is helping me again. I look forward to another speedy recovery.
The staff at MOTI are great. All friendly and caring and very respectful: something I really appreciate You can’t go wrong checking out MOTI if you need help.

MOTI Physiotherapy is everything you're looking for in a physical therapy provider--friendly staff (literally, everyone), knowledgeable doctors and assistants. In 2.5 months, I went from just recovered from a hip injury and wobbly walking/running, to refereeing competitive older-teenage soccer matches. Dr. Derek Nishikawa, in particular, did a great job of listening to my goals and needs, designed a great program, and pushed me just enough. The assistants are all very well prepared, and played a very important role in my full recovery. The facilities are also very clean, very robust in the amount

I couldn't be happier with MOTI and in particular with Nancy Wong who helped me to overcome a very uncomfortable chronic pelvic pain. Not only she's very knowledgeable but also very kind and discreet.
Everyone at MOTI is amazing including the staff at the front desk. Couldn't recommend it more

I have been to physical therapy several different times over the years at different facilities, all for the same issue- chronic lower back and hip pain caused by arthritis. Working with Dr. Derek at Moti was the very first time I had been discharged from a facility while feeling absolutely no pain. It's literally the first time in years I have spent consecutive days pain free. I had come to believe that even though I was young and in great health, my chronic pain was something I was going to have to manage for the rest of my life; thankfully that doesn't seem to be true and I am hopeful for a healthy

MOTI was so instrumental to my healing journey. My work with Kirk Ramirez was enlightening, supportive, and immediately effective. I came to MOTI because I had had tension headaches and migraines for YEARS and was running out of hope they could be improved. I discovered upon arrival that there was a significant postural component with my neck and upper back had been contributing to the frequency and severity of the headaches and no one had caught it in the past. I got results from my work with MOTI immediately. I was only there for two and a half months before I increased my mobility and strength

Dr. Kirk Ramirez at MOTI was recommended to me by a friend who had gone through physical therapy with him for a knee injury. I am a nerd and hate gyms so I was nervous about the gym setting when I arrived. But Dr. Kirk is no meat head. He's super professional and he's *not phoning it in.* He really cares about his patients' success in recovery. He's just a sincere guy. He listens to feedback and adjusts treatment as needed. And he pushes you to keep challenging yourself physically (without hurting yourself). And he's got a sense of humor.
The gym setting is kind of nice because it doesn't feel

Had the best experience at MOTI working with Dr. Kirk Ramirez. I love the space and the people are really kind and helpful. Dr. Kirk along with the help of Ciena really helped get me on the right path to working through my neck and shoulder pain. Their guidance really helped me to feel better and stronger, but also have the tools I need to continue on afterward so that I have more balance and mobility in my body. So thankful for Dr. Kirk and the team at MOTI. Seriously my experience at MOTI has been life changing and I'm so thankful I started going there!

I will be forever grateful for the postpartum physical therapy that I received from Lindsay Brunner at Moti. After having gone through the program, I have told every pregnant woman I know about it! At our initial evaluation, Lindsay asked me thoughtful questions and talked to me with compassion, making sure to explain things in a way that I could understand. She's professional and sensitive and has a great sense of humor and I trusted her implicitly from day one. Lindsay is a really creative collaborator. I would come in each week with a specific ache or pain, or a particular movement that

Went to MOTI for musculoskeletal issues (which later turned out to be RA) and looked forward to my appointments with Lindsay Brunner every week, since I knew I'd feel better afterwards. She listened and made sure I felt heard at every appointment, and was able to give me comprehensive exercise routines for however I was feeling. I have a much better understanding of how my body and its issues are related and how to best take care of it. She's a wonder, and everyone at MOTI, from the PTs to the assistants, were more than helpful. Can't recommend this place enough.

Nancy Wong is a magician. I never knew how much I would look look forward to my physical therapy session. She methodically evaluated my trigger areas and helped me piece together how they are all related. Her sessions were packed with helpful information and she made sure I had an understanding of each exercise, also how to change problematic movements/behaviors I was doing in my day to day life. It was truly a unique experience. The whole team at MOTI is professional and welcoming.

Was referred here by a friend, and initial processing via TriWest was painless. Easy to schedule, and administrative staff were easy to contact.

Had a hamstring tear in early January while deadlifting. Greg and Connor were my PTs, and 15 visits/2 months later I was deadlifting and sprinting near my pre-injury levels. Originally, my orthopedist had said maybe 4-5 months for recovery, but the training plan at Moti was adaptive and met all my needs.

Greg, Connor, and Jack were great and I would recommend Moti to any veterans in the area looking for a community care clinic.

I had an amazing experience with MOTI, and especially the therapist I worked with there, Greg Moy. Greg spent a lot of time working with me to understand my injury, work through the immediate issues that were limiting my activities, and set me up on an ongoing program I could do on my own to complete my recovery.

In addition to Greg, all of the other staff I encountered were knowledgeable and fun to work with. And the facility is open, airy, and well-equipped. The patients during my time there ranged from serious athletes nursing overuse injuries to people recovering from accidents or everyday

I had a really encouraging experience working with Kasia for postpartum support/pelvic floor PT. She played a meaningful role in my physical recovery, as well as being someone I could trust with my emotional experience of becoming a Mom (during a global pandemic). She had a sensitive approach and was always available to listen and hold space without judgement. I also really enjoyed working with the assistant Victor over at the Highland Park location.

Wow what a place, no where can you find a better group of skilled professionals who will help you through all your pain body needs. I've been a client of MOTI on and off over the years, as I've had continuous back problems and as a result have had to have to minor surgeries, every time they've nurtured me back to health. A special thanks to Megan, who I've had the luxury of working with over the years ( first at axis in downtown LA ) She also spends the time to address the underlying issues, and she is literally the nicest person you could know and work with. I've just finished a six week physical therapy plan with Jake at Moti in Los Feliz. I had an ankle injury and he helped me enormously, not just with the ankle but with an arthritis problem that it's been bothering me for years. At the end of our work, I feel stronger, steadier and much more confident, about my injury and also about my physical abilities in general. There are trainers who help with exercises and for me, Jack and Ryan were good instructors and also kind, especially in those frequent moments when I doubted myself. I feel world's better but I'll miss the good company

This year has been different. We can all agree on that. I was diagnosed with an inflammatory arthritis at the beginning of this year. Having been a long distance runner for my life, it was extremely difficult to not only no longer have the ability to run, but to even walk for more than 5 minutes, go up and down the stairs, or even get up from the couch. Suddenly I was basically immobile.

My rheumatologist recommended I try physical therapy and I found MOTI, nearby to my home in East LA. I mentioned that I was a long distance runner and they paired me with Kasia Gondek. I am so thrilled they paired

There are truly not enough words in the English language to describe my gratitude for Fei! I sustained a severe foot injury in February that left me unable to lift my big toe or put any weight on my foot at all. I began physical therapy in person at MOTI prior to the shutdown. Fei's kindness and professionalism struck me from day one. As I continued to make progress, we began working over teletherapy due to the shutdown and the transition was seamless. Fei was able to be just as effective over teletherapy, and thanks to her I "graduated" last week with the full ability to walk, run
