Our staff are highly trained in behavior management, special needs, and sedation dentistry to facilitate a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
The best method to ensure your child has a healthy happy smile is through preventative dentistry. At Durango Kids Pediatric Dentistry, our staff receives additional training to assess and identify your child's level of comfort or disability. We support the establishment of a dental home and encourage the first dental visit to occur before your child's first birthday.

Higher level care, such as sedation dentistry or hospital dentistry, requires additional training for the doctor. Typically, privilege and licensure is granted after completing a residency program (2-4 years of additional training after dental school) and regulated by state boards and hospitals.
Dr. Pinkerton has completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry, a Pediatric Dental Residency and is a board certified Diplomate in the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.She currently has active staff privilege at Animas Surgical Hospital and maintains state certification for minimal sedation.

Special patients require special care. Our goal is to provide optimal dental health for every child regardless of disability. At your initial visit, each patient will experience a comprehensive assessment including a parent interview, complete review of medical and dental history, discussion of any limitations or disabilities.

I highly recommend! My toddler had the best experience & is no longer scared to go to the dentist. Unfortunately, the dentist we went to before did not do a good job and tainted our expectations overall. So I am very thankful to have found such a wonderful, caring and genuine place to take care of my child's dental needs. Thank you so much!

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Pinkerton and her team. They are generous of spirit and have the nurturing heart that kids need. I feel at home and so taken care of when we are there. It is one of the businesses in Durango that is hitting it out of the park as far as customer connection and service. I feel blessed to get to have a team like this for the care of my family and their dental health.

It was very welcoming and kid friendly. The staff there welcomed you and made you feel at home. The staff was very compassionate and caring towards my child when she got a tooth pulled, they comforted her. They also provided her some education on how to brush her teeth. I definitely felt comfortable when I left there. We have found a new dentist!!

My daughter had to have two primary teeth removed and our regular dentist sold his practice. We had to find someone to pull these teeth that my daughter would feel comfortable with. Durango Kids staff are fantastic: warm, welcoming and highly professional. Teeth were out in 30 minutes and they even managed to get quite a few laughs from the patient! Thank you!!!!!
