Removing the layer of thatch (dead grass, including leaves, stems, and roots, that builds up on the soil surface at the base of the grass) in the spring. Deadly (to the grass!) insects LOVE the moist and protective layer of thatch and will often lay eggs and multiply within it.

I've been using Patkin for lawn maintenance for a couple weeks now and I've been very satisfied with their service. They do a great job at a reasonable price. When there is rain forecasted for my scheduled day they come the day before and cut so the lawn always looks great.
I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for lawn services!

Patkin mulched all my beds for me. I am very fussy and they did a beautiful job. They cut the edge of the bed perfectly straight and deep and used the right amount of mulch. I have seen other mulch jobs where the edges are not dug out and the mulch just falls out of the bed at the first rain. I watched them do my neighbor and I could tell immediately they were doing it the right way. Many people walking by have commented positively. The workers were very pleasant and professional and responded happily to any request. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them highly.

Josh is very professional and got me a quote very quickly. Since my house was going up for sale I wanted to get the job done quite quickly. Josh worked with me to make the timeline fit, and his team showed up on time and did a fantastic job! They were very communicative, asked the right questions, and I was able to clarify a few nuances that were important to me.
