Services
We specialize in natural, documentary-style wedding and lifestyle photography and simple, modern album design. We love working with down-to-earth couples who share our passions: food, travel, art, design, the outdoors, mountain biking, and DIY. I was born and raised in Japan. After I graduated from high school, I was looking for something fun and meaningful to do.
Although we specialize in candid photography, we should also mention that Kyo very occasionally offers a little direction to help capture some artistic shots. If possible, he likes to have at least 20 minutes alone with you (the bride and groom) shortly after the ceremony. The rest of the wedding day will be such a whirlwind, it's always wonderful to have pictures of just the two of you sharing a short, peaceful interlude.

From the "getting ready" photos, to the beautiful ones from the ceremony, to the airplane and beach session, to the dance party and sparklers send off, you were able to document each and every moment of the best day of our lives!

Kyo is Japanese and grew up outside Osaka, while Janna is American but spent part of her childhood in Europe. So we love working with couples who come from different cultures and we are very comfortable working in diverse settings and with a wide range of people. It's probably no surprise, then, that we love working with people who are planning a destination wedding.

Kyo was the photographer for my wedding in September. When I was shopping around for photographers, Kyo drove out to meet me in person to show me his portfolio and to get to know me. He is extremely personable, professional, and easy to work with. I like his journalistic style of photography and his calm nature. His photos speak for themselves, really top notch. He communicates incredibly well with the wedding venue and vendors also, which made my wedding day that much more stress-free.

After not having seen our extended family for almost 2 years during the pandemic, we wanted to document our time together, especially with a young child. Kyo was warm, friendly, and easy to work with. He was quick to respond to emails and questions. The entire process, from initial inquiry to photoshoot to getting our digital photos was flawless. Our child was not in the mood for pictures on the day of the photo shoot, yet Kyo was able to get a lot of photos of all of us that really captured the essence of who we are and even a few of our child smiling.

Kyo photographed our intimate backyard wedding in the spring and was wonderful to work with. He has a wonderful eye, and captured both portrait style shots and more spontaneous, natural pictures. We are so happy with the vibrancy of the photos! It was quite stressful trying to rearrange things with the pandemic, and it was a relief to find Kyo. Communication was responsive and he was so easy to work with and prompt with sending us our photos.

I had very little to compare them to at the time of our wedding, but I've since learned that most weddings feature hours and hours of time that you have to spend taking portraits. Why? Why would anyone want that for themselves? Kyo assured us that he would be able to take do our bridal, bridal party, and family portraits in an hour or less. Lo and behold, he made it so - even after we started 15 minutes late. Kyo kept our wedding on time, and the photos turned out beautifully.
