James Peterson began this remarkable venture back in the late 1930's with a homemade slusher (scraper) hauling dirt, pulled by a team of horses. Today we are a 5th generation business and since 1999 the scope of services has expanded dramatically with the addition of Buteyn Excavating and Grading Company, renamed to Buteyn-Peterson Construction Inc. (BPC Inc.).

In 2005 we expanded even greater with the addition of Lakeland Enterprises which is now known as the Utility Division of James Peterson Sons Inc. (JPS - Utility). As we continue to grow, we still cherish our founder's work ethic and we are committed to leading our industry in honesty, integrity, safety and exceeding our customers expectations.

JPS Construction has experience working on green construction sites and utilizing sustainable practices, providing trusted, timely, and environmentally sound workmanship. We always try to limit the damage to the surrounding land by only excavating what is needed and hauling it away or moving it to other parts of the site.
On-site materials recycling helps to reuse materials that would otherwise be taken to a fill site. By recycling the materials, transportation costs are cut down, which helps the environment. Plus, it saves you money. Recycling materials also helps to cut down on the use of our natural reserves of sand, gravel, and rock deposits that are getting harder to find and depending on the location harder to permit.

Well run experienced company. Very fair prices. You get what you pay for, and then some. Would never work with anyone else near Medford.
