We encourage you to review the various services described on this site, and call (561.350.3444) if we can help you with a dilemma, even if it is not specifically described here. Marie Wayland is the owner and President of Appraisals by the Sea, Delray Beach. She is an Accredited Appraiser of the International Society of Appraiser (ISA) since 2000, serving attorneys, banks, charities, realtors, and the private sector. Marie is a mentor to new appraisers, and an educator to her clients and colleagues.
I established Appraisals by the Sea, Inc., many years ago to not only educate, but to assist you, your family, your colleagues, and your clients with the assessment of your valuables, and accomplishing related activities during a difficult time. I am happy to discuss your situation and develop a game plan.
Appraisal Work for Estates - I can prepare appraisals for taxable and non-taxable estates. 1. Educated decisions - Often I am hired to conduct a "walk through" to inspect the contents of the home and identify potentially valuable items for an estate. This education process allows the family to make decisions about what to keep, sell, or donate.
We often assist Realtors and their Clients with the contents of a home that is being offered for sale. 1. Selling to a buyer: Your Client wants to sell a home furnished, but does not know how much to ask the buyer to pay for the contents (used furniture, art, decorative art, etc.). The Client needs an appraisal with realistic values that will secure a sale with the buyer.
Appraisers are frequently called on to assist one or both spouses in a divorce proceeding. Facilitate settlement: "Nothing is so onerous to a Judge than two former lovers arguing over baubles." Litigants, more often than not, argue over value assets by using retail prices, or by factoring in sentimental value.
