We Are a Heart-Centered, Nature-Based Preschool Program for Young Children in Grant Park, Atlanta, GA. We strive to provide an ideal early childhood experience for preschool children from two years to five years of age. Our unique, FULLY OUTDOOR holistic program (in 2020-2021) nurtures with compassion and balances toward wholeness, both in principles and with our curriculum.
You're invited to contact our school and learn more about outdoor care and outdoor learning with our approach to protecting the wonder of childhood, while cultivating the young child's healthy physical, emotional and cognitive development.

The Children's Garden's core, whole-child, holistic approach to the joyful way of "learning through living" is the basis of our work with children. Through the living arts, we are able to create a very natural daily life experience at school as the "curriculum". When children experience healthy life rhythms and routines the beauty, comfort, security, and connection to the living world of nature form the basis for meaningful learning.
Our goal is to provide a safe, nourishing and nurturing environment in which children are guided in exploring their intellectual, emotional, social and creative capacities. Our mission is to meet the young child in their place of wonder; to honor each child's sense of self and to help them foster their confidence in the world; to cultivate understanding, cooperation and communication by way of the learning through living approach.
Our program was already operating with a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, pre-2020, so we were quite prepared to shift. In addition to loving teachers, trained and experienced in living arts curriculum, our school embodies a natural and rhythmic, calm, warm, home-like environment for children to experience the world at their own pace and learn through their senses.
The Children's Garden Preschool is a dream job for me and I've gained so much from our approach to teaching. Since 2016, Jess Long, our new Starlings Assistant Teacher, has worked as a substitute teacher and Friday park. Grace Kim and her family relocated to the United States, she'd spent the previous nine years living in Asia.
