C.3 non-profit organization established in 2011 by Founder/Director, Jill Weiss Ippolito. Mission Statement: To offer Trauma Informed Yoga Programs to Those Incarcerated and Underserved Communities. URY staff have participated in monthly meetings with County staff to discuss the service needs of youth involved in both child welfare and juvenile justice systems, known commonly as "crossover youth."
Services
UpRising Yoga is dedicated to bringing yoga to Los Angeles and Orange Counties as those throughout California to those who cannot easily access yoga classes. On average we have about seven to ten students per unit each week. This program is offering the participants an opportunity to understand how yoga can be used effectively in all aspects of their life.
Jill Weiss Ippolito, is a trauma informed yoga educator and instructor, an activist, public speaker, consultant and writer, currently the Founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit UpRising Yoga. UpRising Yoga (URY) offers direct services of yoga life skill classes in youth detention facilities and camps, group homes, schools, homeless shelters, and underserved communities, bridging communities worldwide.
In the space of just one hour, I saw a roomful of teenagers undergo an astonishing transition. They went from seeing themselves as the victims of unfair and unfortunate circumstances to strong, capable individuals who have the power and ability to better themselves and their lives if they so choose.
UpRising Yoga is offering FREE YOGA in THE PARK! with El Centro Del Pueblo. The Summer Night Lights program is a public and private partnership undertaken by the City of Los Angeles Mayor's Office of Gang Reduction & Youth Development ("GRYD") and The GRYD Foundation. Free Trauma Informed Yoga to the Communities!
Spiral Path Yoga Center is pleased to host Yoga for Healing Trauma, in presenting this unique curriculum for service professionals and yoga teachers, based on practical, combined applications of trauma-informed theory and yoga philosophy. Best approaches for working with foster youth and CSEC (Commercially Sexually Exploited Children).

I think .... No, I KNOW the honest love that is going into showing others a way to heighten and enlighten their lives through Yoga..is beyound Yoga, it comes from a deeper place..UPRISING YOGA gives love, guidence, strength, discipline and courage to allow oneself to change.
