Services
Darien Animal Hospital is a full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing as well as the utilization of external laboratories. We also work closely with specialty clinics in Jacksonville, FL and Savannah, GA when special diagnostic procedures or expertise beyond our capabilities are needed.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Don't forget we have a late night on Wednesdays! We can also arrange to be here earlier than 8:30am for those of you that need us to do so - just ask!
There are emergency clinics for pets in both Savannah (Savannah Veterinary Internal Medicine and Intensive Care 912-721-6410) that is open nights, weekends and some holidays, and in Jacksonville (First Coast Veterinary Emergency 904-853-6310) or (BluePearl Pet Hospital 904-646-1287) which are both open 24/7.

Having lived in several states (Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma, Colorado, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, Alabama, Kentucky, North Carolina, and of course Georgia), some more than once, Dr. Pope never really knows how to answer the question "Where are you from?" Since he has lived more more than twice as long in Georgia than any other state, he now considers this his home.
Lacey was born in Alabama and has lived in several states across the US, but now considers Georgia her home. She joined Darien Animal Hospital as a receptionist in 2012 shortly after we opened. Since then she has trained and worked as an assistant and has now taken on the role of Office Manager. Lacey has a great passion for helping and loving every animal she comes in contact with and would take them all home with her if she could.

The day we arrived to our vacation near Darien, our dog came down with an ugly ear infection. The DAH staff worked us in and made sure that we they had us out of their office in time to catch the last ferry of the day back to our AirBnB. I can't thank DAH enough for the fast, efficient care. They saved our vacation, and our boy is doing great now.

I had a new puppy and had a limited window to get him health checked per breeder requirements. Called several vets in Brunswick. I was told only existing clients could get an appointment immediately due to pandemic causing high demand. Darien Animal Hospital was the only clinic willing to work me in. I love this place. They were friendly and kind and presented me with free samples. Very glad I found them.

DAH is about the same as any other vet I've used, maybe a little less skilled in customer relations and a little flaky. I have the same advice when dealing with all vets. Always stay with your pet. Always scrutinize any recommended medications/vaccines/treatments. (Do your research. I have been given some advice at DAH that does not jive with my personal research and experience.) Always remember that your pet is an animal, not a human, but with a distinct personality and needs. You love them and know them better than anyone, and you should always trust your instincts on how to care for them. Don

I'm in love with the folks at Darien Animal Hospital.
Dr. Pope is warm, funny, patient and knowledgeable.
Camille and Lacey and friendly and professional.
The groomer, Jennifer, is an absolute sweetheart - and best of all - she's HIGHLY SKILLED. She made my little furbaby look runway ready today.
This is my Mother's dog's (Kalu) regular veterinarian - but since we've been in town for an extended bit of time - I've had to bring Gizmo in for tummy issues and today I dropped both dogs by. Kalu needed her yearly heartworm shots and a shampoo with nail trim. And

Dr. Pope and Dr. Rich are both excellent veterinarians. They and their staff always do everything they can to help our pups. We have trusted Dr. Pope in caring for our 5 dogs in the last 5 years, and he has never disappointed. Dr. Rich is new, so he has only cared for our newest addition to the family, but he is also extremely helpful and kind! They are so friendly and patient with any questions or concerns that we have. The staff are also all so friendly! I HIGHLY recommend DAH. Both the doctors and the staff truly care about the health and well being of your pet.
