The focus of my practice is internal medicine, with a specialty in women's health. However, acupuncture and herbal therapies successfully treat a wide variety of symptoms and illnesses, all of which are fundamental imbalances at their core. I use a combination of traditional acupuncture (to balance "vital energy") in conjunction with Western herbs and nutrition.
I prefer Western herbs vs. Chinese for several reasons, not the least of which is quality control. I want to know exactly what I am dispensing to patients and at what dosage, therefore it is essential to provide pharmaceutical grade herbs and supplements. I am also formally trained in homeopathic remedies, as well as Western medical herbs and their pharmacology.

Services
Many people, especially those new to acupuncture, are concerned that the needles might be painful. Sometimes that fear is big enough to stop people from trying acupuncture, even if they're convinced it might help them. There are many different styles of acupuncture needling, as well as varying needle sizes and quality.
If you are a new patient, and would like to schedule a first time appointment, we will need about 90 minutes together. This will give us time to explore the various aspects of your health and what concerns you have, as well as allow for a first time acupuncture session.
Prior to this initial appointment, I will send you an information packet that will include your medical history, a symptom questionnaire designed for Chinese medicine diagnosis, a nutritional profile, and a list of medications and herbs/supplements you are currently taking. You will either send back the information packet so I can look it over before your first appointment, or you can simply bring it with you.
