The lodge was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hot water and shower pressure could have been better. NO air conditioning or fan. We slept with the window open and were still hot. We were the last room next to the bar and did not hear anything which was a plus. My only complaints were the shower head and maybe install a ceiling fan. I could not imagine staying there during the heat of the summer. I would stay again for a one night stay.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The winter rate was reasonable. You could tell my room was recently renovated. Paint, carpet and bathroom looked brand new. There was a big mini fridge, microwave, "real hair dryer" and four cup coffee maker. There's free wi fi, but I didn't try it out. I stopped by the bar last night expecting it to be a sleepy place, but it was hopping! It's St.Patrick's Day weekend though, so that might be related. The room did have some highway noise, but that's a trade off for convenience. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This place was pretty cool, we checked in a little later around 8pm we got real keys it has been a while since that has happened. After going to the room its nice enough they have got lots of lamps which help light up the room pretty good. Best part is the view of the river!! Would stay again if ever visiting Soldotna.

I would love to say this hotel is rustic, but it's not. It's old. It smells and looks old, but the views are incomparable. The beds are... well, they're awful. BUT, the staff is amazing, there's a laundromat for guests, private river access, a plethora of wildlife. Central location - and did I mention the staff is fantastic!!

I would not give it even one star!
This is the first time I have ever written a review, good or bad. But I had to say some something. My husband sat down on one of the chairs and it broke from under him. We called the desk to get a new one and the clerk told us that this isn't the first time someone had hurt themselves from the chair breaking. When we received our bill at the end of our stay, the owners were charging us for the broken chair. I asked to speak with the owner, since my husband did hurt himself and to let her know that the clerk mentioned that the chair had already been broken

Sitting on the banks of the Kenai River, every room has a river view. There are fire pits and barbecue grills right on the river's edge for the use by the guests. In season you can fish from the banks of the river, and the lodge has a freezer room to store your fish. There is a great little bar overlooking the river with a nice selection of local brews. My only complaint is the room is old and dated, and the bed was not comfortable.

It's good to live in Alaska during the off season. Case in point, A few friends and myself where looking to get out of Anchorage for the evening. We wanted to party and have a good time, but not worry about the drive. We stayed at the Kenai River Lodge and where very impressed. First off, we stayed in the Crow's Nest which is a one Queen, four twin suite they rent out for a very reasonable 159.00. The building was very clean and while it's a little aged, they obviously work hard to keep it up. Furthermore, they have opened a new lounge which they obviously dropped a good chunk of

Let's be clear. This lodge, and many others in Alaska know they won't ever see you again so they don't give a whit if you catch fish or not.
I stayed here for three days in June after my family took an inland passage cruise. I was clear with them that I was an experienced fly fisherman (over 35 years, guide school, some years 100+ days on the water) and wanted a top guide. What I got was three days of "guides" not worth half of what I was paying them
The first day I and two other poor souls went out with a guide on his FIRST DAY on the Kenai. We didn't have so much

If you just need a comfortable and clean place to crash in Soldotna, Kenai River Lodge is the perfect place. Usually most of the places on the Kenai are questionable unless you're staying at an upscale fishing lodge, but KRL fits the bill. The woodsy decor is inviting, not over-the-top. The rooms have a view of the Kenai River, and you can stroll down to their fishing dock, complete with outdoor bbq's and fire pits. The location is not 'secluded' or 'serene,' but very convenient to town and the river. The price was fantastic too. :)

Drove into town last minute and decided to stop here because it is right on the kenai river. It doesn't look that unique from the outside but the rooms and grounds are redone. New paint linins bathrooms etc. On the banks of the river they have a firepit BBQ cleaning area for fish and docks. Lots of nice touches from in room furniture to carvings at dock. AAA rate to ... This place exceeded and price was right.
