Awesome-great service by a cool bunch of people! After multiple disastrous visits to CVS, we switched to Costco but the service and getting in and out were a huge hassle. A friend recommended Shady Grove, and I couldn't be happier. We pay exactly the same as what we paid elsewhere with our insurance but the difference in service and staff were just unbelievable.

Good: They are quick to respond. Generally good location - although it looks like a CVS in an office park. Also, they are a compound Pharmacy with a staff that is able to turn around orders quickly - and precisely.

I did the test between Vashan Pharmacy and Shady Grove Pharmacy, so that you, fellower Yelper, didn't have to.
I am lucky enough to have two compounding pharmacies near me within a mile from each other. So, when I recently got a prescription for a compounded cream, I knew that I wanted to shop between the two and compare prices. IMO, people don't shop around enough when it comes to their healthcare - not this girl.
For the same medication, I was quoted 52% cheaper at Shady Grove than at Vashan's down the road... automatic victor in my book!
The service was quick (no lines)

I left a voicemail they said they never got it and I called one time they said call another time am just filling in. Very bad customer service never I will buy from them anymore. It's a small pharmacy in the middle of nowhere, with very limited hours. If you don't have a car and an ultra-flexible work schedule, don't bother even trying to come here.
To get there via transit, you have to go to the Shady Grove metro, then wait for a bus that comes every half hour. When I finally got there, they did not have one of the medications I needed and I had to come back the next week. And, they are only open 9-5. I have to take away a star just for that--how inconsiderate of customers' schedules. According to the website, they have two pharmacists, so surely one

I went in last week for the first time. I needed a compound cream for my mother and spoke with the pharmacist who does compounding. He was amazingly helpful and kind. He jumped hoops to make the cream I needed and had it to me that evening. And they delivered it to my parents retirement home! Amazing customer service!!! And nice people as well!!

I highly recommend this pharmacy!! A simple liquid pain med for children was like asking the big chain pharmacies to run a marathon and back. CVS would NOT order it for me, nor would Giant. Within 5 min, this pharmacy had it done and ordered. The pharmacist (Sheila) was nothing but pleasant, warm and caring. If you want personalized attention without the long lines and ATTITUDES of a big chain, this is the place to go. What a WONDERFUL, CARING pharmacy. I am so happy that my parents have switched from one of the large chain pharmacies to Shady Grove Pharmacy. From our very first visit, we knew that we were in excellent hands. Sheila (a wonderful pharmacist) along with all of the other skilled pharmacists and assistants gave us such a warm and caring welcome. Not only are they the kindest people you will ever meet, they’re also extremely efficient. This is my new favorite pharmacy. Having the wrong pharmacy can kill you.
I've experienced problems at other pharmacies ranging from incompetence to bigotry. At other pharmacies I've been issued the wrong medication, or denied my prescription for months while they FALSELY claimed that my prescription medication was simply not available, only to find that other pharmacies had it and that this one pharmacy (3 characters, beginning with C and ending with S) was holding out for lowest price to increase their profit margin. I'm never going back to that one. At one small chain local

I go out of my way to use this pharmacy as well, even though there are 24 hour pharmacies in the area. After enduring several frustrating years at a large chain pharmacy, we couldn't take it anymore and found Shady Grove Pharmacy (thanks to Yelp). Everyone here is so friendly and helpful. I appreciate that there aren't long lines and your prescription is ready when they say it will be ready. Here's the kind of service I received from this pharmacy today. I called to find out if they offer compounding services because my elderly mother was in need of a compounded prescription FOR HER CAT. Mom would have a hard time picking up a prescription at the compounding pharmacy in the town where she lives. Sheila and Geoff have done an excellent job with Shady Grove Pharmacy! This pharmacy is the perfect combination of back-in-the-day mom & pop shop familiarity AND up-to-date efficiency and technology. The entire staff is warm and personal. My kids love to go there and beg to stop by to say hello when we are in the area.

Still the best pharmacy in the area. I moved down to Silver Spring and still kept coming here. Best service, willing to work with me when I need it, and always friendly. They even recognize me when I call.

I was feeling horrible a few days ago and went to the doctor twice within a 24 hour period. I received several prescriptions, and was in no mood to make a stop at the pharmacy close to my house.
Shady Grove Pharmacy was directly next door to my doctor's office, so I thought I would get my Rx's filled there to eliminate that need.
Immediately, when I walked in, they treated me like family. As they saw I was in distress, they bent over backwards to accommodate me in any and every way possible. This pharmacy literally made me feel better even prior to filling my prescription!

Shady Grove Pharmacy is hands down the BEST Pharmacy out there. Sheila, Mary and Geoff take customer service to a whole new level of EXCELLENCE in an industry where customer service is often non-existent. When I call for a prescription they know me by name, remind me of scripts that are coming due for refill, never give me a hard time about last minute requests, and even deliver right to my door.

This is a wonderful pharmacy with great service and staff. It was my salvation after the Montgomery Village Pharmacy closed. The atmosphere is nice and you don't have to wait forever to get your Rx. You can even relax on the sofa while waiting. I'm transferring ALL my prescriptions to this pharmacy!

This is the kind of pharmacy that most people could only wish for. The pharmacist and her technician worked very hard recently with my insurance company when my doctor abruptly changed dosages - I just know other pharmacies would have given up. This proactive staff actually cares about your wellness, i think it's because the owners work there on a daily basis. FIVE STARS!
