We are a locally owned and operated veterinary facility that has been providing exceptional pet care in the Tri City area for over 50 years. As a full service Veterinary Hospital, we strive to always provide a clean, comfortable, and friendly atmosphere. Morgan City Vet offers a range of medical and surgical needs, bathing, boarding, daycare, and grooming.

Meet Our Team Report

Dr. Abby Cefalu is a native of Morgan City and graduated Valedictorian of Central Catholic High School. She attended Louisiana State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. Dr. Cefalu is a graduate of LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. She is married to Dr. William Cefalu Jr. and they have two daughters named Ellis Marie and Amelie and a son named William.

Wellness Report

Our emphasis is on providing the best care for your pets. We recommend yearly visits to help your pet stay healthy and live longer. Within these visits, owners can choose to perform a variety of vaccinations, heartworm tests, routine blood work, check for intestinal parasites, radiographs, and a physical exam to check the general health of your pet.

Surgery Report

Our experienced and highly trained veterinary surgeon is well qualified to provide the best and most appropriate care for your pet. If your pet needs a surgical procedure that we do not offer, we are able to refer you to an appropriate specialist. We carefully and safely place your pet under anesthesia.

Boarding & Daycare Services Report

We would love to have your pets come stay with us! Our boarding and daycare facility is a clean and friendly environment that owners can feel comfortable knowing their cat or dog is right at home. We want to take some of the stress off of the owner so we provide bedding, bowls, and all meals. You don't need to bring any supplies other than any necessary medication.

Grooming & Baths Report

Our hydro-surge system is perfect to get your pets fresh and clean. Included in all baths is ear cleaning, eye ointment to prevent inadvertent exposure to soaps, and a conditioning shampoo. On request, we can do medicated baths for those pets with finicky skin. We have a full-time groomer on staff.

I have always been pleased with the quality of care received at MC Veterinary Hospital. For the most part of the past 40 years all of the vets have been women here and I feel that their manner with my animals has been EXCELLENT and their expertise is unequaled.
