Identifying and confirming assets (including real and personal property, businesses and/or business interests) and debts. If minor children are involved, identifying and resolving issues regarding conservatorship, possession and support. Lisa Bruce and The Bruce Law Firm provide realistic assessments of the issues facing clients and practical advice regarding available options and strategies for achieving final resolution of those issues.
Custody and child support orders dictate how parents (or third parties with standing to act as conservators of a child) will share rights to make decisions about the child (conservatorship), access to the child (possession and access) and child support (including determinations of which parent will pay child support and how much will be paid).
While most divorce litigants believe that post-divorce spousal maintenance (also referred to as support) is a given if a marriage has lasted for 10 years or more, the truth is that the Texas Family Code's allowances for post-divorce spousal maintenance (also called support) are fairly limited, keeping in mind that the inquiry of a court in determining entitlement to post-divorce spousal maintenance is quite different from the considerations for providing temporary support while a divorce is pending.

Choosing a lawyer is hard, but Lisa's compassion, combined with knowledge, sprinkled with wittiness, and held together with zealousness should make the choice easy!

Excellent experience with this firm. Bruce Tough listened well and was at all times courteous and respectful of everyone, including our opponent and the opponent's law firm, but firmly. Bruce Tough took the time and effort to review all the evidence and in our case counseled a reasonable compromise that led to a quick solution that was acceptable to both parties. However, it was clear that if we had chosen to pursue a more aggressive path, or if our compromise was rejected, he was willing and able to do that, too. I highly recommend Bruce Tough.
