Serving Families Since 1917 | Stone Brothers Funeral Home is a family owned business with 3 generations of experience. Stone Brothers serves the public from two locations, Fort Pierce, FL and Gifford, FL. The Gifford site has been restored from the damage received from the two 2004 hurricanes, Frances and Jeanne.
It never closed its doors for service but has physically reopened its doors to serve the surrounding communities. We strive on the compassionate service we offer our patrons. Our website is designed with the same care and attention that we give to all of our families. We understand that the death of a loved one is the single most difficult moment of your life.

Samuel who married in 1962 fathered three children. His daughter Alwyn finished Hampton University and after teaching for two years, and working for the State of Florida decided to attend Mortuary School and became a licensed Funeral Director in the family business. Today, Alwyn Gaines, a third generation family member is the general manager of the family business.
A funeral or memorial is a customary way to recognize death and its finality. Funerals are held for the living to show respect for the dead and to help survivors begin the grief process. They also give mourners a chance to share stories, create memories, fulfill religious beliefs & customs, participate in a support system, and gather at a peaceful place during a time of confusion and uncertainty.
Holding a funeral or memorial service for your loved one is a positive first step in the grieving process. Family members and friends get a chance to say their goodbyes, and at the same time, they get to share strong feelings with one another. In the days, weeks and months following the service, people continue to need others to lean on for understanding, encouragement and guidance.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.

I deleted this review a while ago because I was so embarrassed to have gone through this. However, I am adding it back. This situation went on for additional months until we finally got the headstone installed almost 1 year after the original order. This is after constant efforts to reach Stone Brothers after being ignored and given multiple excuses. The headstone was missing a feature that I paid a lot of money to have as an add on. I cannot recommend this company.

Mr, Mario Brown hired our company to provide specialized transportation for a memorial service being performed by the Stone Brothers in early November 2020. Mario signed a service agreement with us and we provided our professional services. They promised to pay us onsite but sadly we have not been paid for our services as of yet. We have reached out several times asking to resolve this amicably but they have ignored our request. We find it terribly disappointing. Clients should be concerned about hiring a company who doesn't pay its own bills.

My father died July 20. It is now August 22 and I still do not have his death certificate. He lived in Florida & I live in GA so the only way to communicate was through phone. The only way to contact them is via an answering machine service, but their mailbox is always full. This has been the hardest time of my life & this company did not make it any easier. They are unorganized and unreliable.
