Boone Gardiner is the Louisville areas oldest nursery and garden center, and among the founders of the industry in Kentucky. The Gardiner family's history in the gardening business predates their arrival in Maryland from Britain. Francis Boone Gardiner and his brother moved to Fairfield, KY and established Gardiner Brothers Nursery.
In 1899, Boone purchased Fondavera, an estate in Jefferson County, and turned his small homegrown nursery business into Boone Gardiner Garden Center, Nursery and Greenhouses. That location is named to this day Gardiner Lane in his honor. After Boone's death in 1927, his widow Martha Elizabeth Leezer Gardiner ran the business and cared for the family until she passed away six years later.

Boone Gardiner has designed 3 wonderful landscapes for each of our homes over the past 36 years. Each of our homes was very different and required a different aesthetic. We were always more than pleased with his ideas. First he met with us to get a feel of what we wanted. Then he drew up plans illustrating our desires and making suggestions to enhance coordination and seasonal changes in color and textures.

We had an area of our yard that needed some TLC due to some erosion. Matt came out to see the property to see the damage and to hear what we were hoping to accomplish. He then came back to us later with some great suggestions that we ran with. The area looks amazing with the plants and the dry creek beds are working perfectly after some heavy rains that we have had recently. We could not be happier with the way it looks. Matt is very professional and has a good vision to help spruce up your property. I would recommend Matt & Hope and their company to anybody.

We are absolutely in love with our backyard design and landscaping. Matt designed our backyard a few years ago but we decided to do a few other projects first. When it came time to move forward Matt and his team came out and did an amazing job! We would highly recommend them and we look forward to working with Boone-Gardiner in the future.

We had Matt and his team install a new paver patio in our backyard. The entire team was responsive, personable, professional, and timely. Matt came out a couple of times to work on the landscape design and gave us a fair estimate. When there was a bit of a hiccup in one of the cost estimate, he worked with us to ensure we could still fit it within our budget. The patio and landscaping turned out fantastically. Highly recommend

BG have completed beautiful renovations of both our front yard and backyard landscaping - we loved our front yard experience so much we had them back!
In both renovations the designers really took time to LISTEN (!) and delivered innovative and visually pleasing ideas taking our preferences into consideration. The crews worked really hard every day no matter what the weather conditions. They were polite and personable, happy to answer questions and genuinely interested in planting the new trees and shrubs in harmony with the yard conditions and with homeowner input. I have known Matt for nearly 20 years. I cannot say enough good about the landscape projects that he has done for me. The latest project, was the largest by far, and it went as smooth as could be. His workers were as professional as I have seen. They allowed me to help, which really means I was constantly in their way, and they never missed a beat. We knew from the beginning, the project would be a little fluid with respect to the placement of the materials. I often relied on their opinions and they hit home runs every time.
