EAST Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine was born out of a love for the sophistication and philosophy of Traditional East Asian Medicine, and wanting more people to have access to this natural and effective healing tradition. It is an ancient healing art that has withstood the test of time. One thing that makes it particularly effective is that it is customized to the individual.
There is no one size fits all. Another, is that it is HOLISTIC. The mind, body, and spirit are interconnected and all are considered and addressed during treatment. At EAST, space is held for your healing journey. Enough time is allotted for you to discuss your goals and concerns. Traditional diagnostics and modern lab testing are integrated when necessary to provide a clear picture of your health.

Hi! I'm Dr. Vanessa Stretton, wearer of many hats at EAST Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine. I wanted to practice in a way that allowed enough time for my patients and their practitioner to feel nurtured and relaxed. EAST is a place where you will never feel like just a number. I am licensed by the California Acupuncture Board and nationally board certified by NCCAOM.
If you're looking for expert holistic treatment and guidance for fertility concerns; EAST Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine is a calm and supportive place with specialized treatment for men and women provided by Dr. Vanessa Stretton. Dr. Stretton has been helping people become parents since 2010! It can be filled with disappointment, heartbreak, jealousy, shame, and feelings of failure and inadequacy.
Dedicating just 3 months to improving overall health and fertility, can increase your chances of conception and healthy pregnancy. Making changes in lifestyle, nutrition, receiving acupuncture and taking herbs and supplements, can mean the difference of not conceiving, recurrent pregnancy loss, and having a healthy pregnancy and baby.
One of the most vulnerable and least discussed aspects of childbearing is the postpartum recovery period. The first 6 weeks after giving birth is sometimes referred to as the 4th trimester. Traditionally, it may be referred to as the mother-roasting period (for the importance of avoiding exposure to cold) or sitting the moon (referring to the period of at least a month or moon cycle of recovery).
We develop coping and self soothing strategies to help us function in our lives. Those strategies usually work well for a while until they outlive their usefulness and we find that we are no longer able to cope and our daily life is affected. Trauma gets stored in the body and can manifest as pain, illness, infertility, anxiety, and changes in mood, sleeping and eating patterns.

I reached out to Dr. Vanessa Stretton as recommended by my doulas in a last ditch attempt to help flip my baby from breech to head down. My version was scheduled for the following morning and she got me in right away that evening. She was calm, knowledgeable and made me feel incredibly comfortable. I’ve seen many different acupuncturists but Dr. Stretton was by far one of the more enjoyable experiences.

Dr. Stretton is an incredible acupuncturist. Seeing her for fertility has been a great experience. I barely feel any of the needles. She’s is so gentle! Her ability to hold space for the emotional labor I have endured with infertility is unmatched. Thank you, Vanessa! Thank you for being on my team.

My husband and I had been trying to conceive for 6 years with no success. My doctor (of allopathic medicine) told me that I had less than a 3% chance of conceiving a child due to hormone imbalance. I was also told that I was not a candidate for IVF because my hormones indicated that there weren’t many eggs left for retrieval. Their advice to me was to seek out an egg donor as being the most viable option for pregnancy. This news broke me and sent me into a spiraling depression.
During that spiral, I found an article about acupuncture and fertility and read the numerous success stories that came

Dr. Stretton came to my rescue during the height of my first gallbladder attack. The combination of cold laser and acupuncture was the only thing to relieve my fluctuating and persistent symptoms. Not only did I feel some immediate relief, but I continued to improve the days and weeks after my attack, by following Dr. Stretton’s diet and supplement recommendations. I’ve remained consistent with her recommendations and have not had any further flare -ups. I am grateful for her holistic approach, which has stretched far beyond my initial treatment.

I saw Dr. Stretton during my long journey with IVF over the course of 2+years, and throughout my pregnancy. After years of irregular periods and spotting, within a month of seeing her my periods became more regular and my mid-cyle spotting vanished. Now, I have a toddler who is here, in part, due to her amazing care and practice. She even came to my home and did house calls when I was bed bound on bed rest for 10 weeks. She's nothing short of amazing.
I found Dr. Stretton again now at East Acupuncture and I'm so glad I did. She has an amazing knowledge for both eastern and western medicine. She
