Grant County Health Departmane
Long and rich, our history dates back to the 1970s when Oregon determined that its counties would be the "local mental health authority." This meant that each county had the authority to provide its own mental health, addictions, and developmental disability services, or contract these services out.

Morrow County chose to operate its own program, and the agency was known as Morrow County Mental Health. In 1983 it agreed to provide these services for Gilliam and Wheeler counties. In 1993 Gilliam County decided to contract with a different provider.

It can be a challenge to go to a counselor the first time. It can be hard to face ourselves, to open up to another, and even to just take that first step to address the things that we are struggling with. But taking that step can mean a world of difference for your life.

Many of our clients come for individual therapy to deal with challenges such as depression, clinical depression, getting through a rough phase of life, bipolar disorder, anxiety issues, or school behavioral issues, to name a few.We offer mental health services for both adults and children.
We work intensely with individuals to overcome their addictions to alcohol and/or other drugs. Some clients come for treatment voluntarily, while others are mandated by the court following a DUI or other substance-related offense. Whatever your situation, this program involves complete alcohol and drug assessment, individual counseling, and classes for substance education and relapse prevention.
Free treatment and counseling services are available to any Oregon resident who either has a gambling problem or knows someone who does. Perhaps you need some resources and tools to know how to help your friend. Perhaps you are that friend, and need to confidentially talk to a counselor about finding freedom.
Whoever you are and whatever you may be going through, you are welcome on the Warmline! Our caring team of trained peers offers nonjudgmental and confidential peer support every day. No appointments needed! We are here for you! Our goal is to connect with you, to listen, and to discover together how we can make sense of our experiences.
The Toolkit is a brand-new development of the Warmline. One of our major initiatives is to aid interested agencies or individuals obtain the resources they need to implement a warmline in their area. The amount of planning and strategizing involved can be daunting, and our philosophy is that there is no need to re-invent the wheel.
