ZAPATA HARDWOOD FLOORS is a family-owned and operated company in Tallahassee, Florida. Brent Zapata, a Tallahassee native, established the company in 1994. Brent got his training here in Tallahassee from a local flooring business. He started his own business and strives to do his best for each and every customer.
We specialize in the installation, sanding and finishing of hardwood flooring. We run a dustless system to ensure the cleanest job possible. Our state of the art Dust Containment System (DCS) features the newest technology advanced HEPA filtration. With this system we have been able to throw away our dust masks because there simply is no dust in the air.

With the dustless sanding system, we are able to remove 99.9% of all dust. Keeping the site clean of all contamination is the key to a perfect finish. We pride ourselves in keeping a clean job site at all times. We are able to run the AC in order to control both the humidity and temperature with no threat of contamination.
We use a proven system to ensure that the finish bonds to the floor. We start by testing areas to make sure there is no contamination on the floor. After the tests are done, we use a cleaning system to thoroughly clean and prepare the floor to apply the finish. When we are done, we are able to lay the TOPCOAT.
When we were building our house, we decided to put hardwood floors down throughout the entire house, except the bathrooms and laundry room. We looked at different companies in Tallahassee and decided on Zapata Hardwood Floors. Brent Zapata's crew was amazing from the beginning to the end. They arrived on time, were courteous and didn't play around.

My husband and I are in the process of renovating a house that we will move to in Waverly Hills. We do just about everything ourselves, except finish and repair hardwood floors (did it once, and never again). After talking with our Realtor, Ben Trexler, he highly recommended Brent Zapata, with Zapata Hardwood Floors. If Ben says that's who to use, that's who we'll use, and we're glad that we did. First they would not return phone calls after numerous attempts...then they missed measured my house short by 60sq ft and wanted to charge $3.99 per foot to install quarter round trim/transitions.....then wanted half payment upfront before even starting the install. Needless to say I contacted a different contractor who installed trim for 50 cents per foot.
