The Sisters of Mercy have been part of the Alma community since 1973 and Sacred Heart Mercy Health Care Clinic has been serving the medical needs of the people of Alma, MI since 1981. As religious sisters, we are committed to providing comprehensive care services to all who come through our doors regardless of background or financial standing.

Sister Mary Gretchen Hoffman, RSM, MD has been with the Religious Sisters of Mercy since 2003.
We learn in Scripture that Christians are exhorted to show mercy in the face of the suffering of others and God shows us His mercy above all in the passion, death and resurrection of His Incarnate Son. The cross is not just a moment in time that the Church is called to stand witness to but a supernatural reality that we all participate in through our sufferings in life.
We recognize that God has given us so much: our education, our clinic, our patients, and His very Self. In gratitude, we use our gifts in service of those who are suffering regardless of beliefs.
