EE&D strategies lower the energy use and costs at your facility by focusing on energy reduction and using renewable sources. Our goal is to push your buildings towards Net Zero Energy Use. The reduction of energy lowers utility costs which generates the funds for building improvements.

It's Easy: Take the savings from enhanced HVAC control strategies and systems, advances in indoor air quality, and upgrades to lighting systems and controls to pay for your energy reduction strategies. The center was built in 2005 as a state-of-the-art sustainable building on the waterfront of Narragansett bay.
Services
We are an independent engineering consulting firm that provides comprehensive energy use reduction services for the commercial, education, municipal, Federal and Industrial sectors. David Ward, P.E., LEED AP founded EE&D in 2001, and is the principal engineer.

Ward has over 25 years of experience in construction, contracting, engineering and project development of mechanical systems in the commercial, industrial, institutional and government sectors. He holds three patents for methods of HVAC and refrigeration system optimization. Ward worked in construction installing and servicing HVAC and refrigeration systems for 10 years before getting his degree in mechanical engineering.
Fortunately, with well planned integrated designs, these two elements are very complimentary and can both be achieved together. The integration of these two elements to provide High Performing Green Buildings is the core principle and practice of Energy Engineering and Design. The reduction of energy which results in lower utility costs is the fundamental element of achieving high performing buildings.
Take a look at some of our favorite projects to see we have done for other facilities like yours. The building is a 35,000 square foot Air and Water Quality test laboratory. It was fully renovated in 2012 and achieved a LEED Platinum rating. However, the building was not operating efficiently and was experiencing many comfort complaints and air pressurization alarms.
