The company was established in 1981 as a custom landscape construction and maintenance business. I joined the company in 1983 first as a laborer and soon became a supervisor. In 1986 I became a partner and acquired the business completely in 1989. I hold a bachelor's degree in Ornamental Horticulture from California State Polythechnic University Pomona with an emphasis in Landscape Construction and Landscape Design.
I spent 8 years as Director of the Technical and Design Department for Nightscaping, the very first lighting manufacturer in the industry. At Nightscaping I had the unique opportunity to work personally and directly with Bill Locklin, the founder of the 12 volt lighting industry. I have a passion for good lighting, specifically outdoor 12 volt landscape lighting.

Do your homework people. Go to the CSLB website. Make sure contractors you hire are licensed and insured. With the amount of investment that you are making for these type of projects, there's no way you want to go for the lowest bidder because those folks are most likely unlicensed and uninsured, and worse, cut corners with your work. I know few people that got screwed by their contractor because they didn't finish their job or did such poor job that they had to hire another contractor, basically coughing up double the amount as originally planned. Don't let that happen to you!

I cannot say enough good things about Artisan Light and the owner T. He created a beautiful backyard based on our visions and basic descriptions. He is an artist and committed to his profession. My neighbor recommended Artisan Light and Landscape to me. I waited for 2 months for him to install sprinkler system because I know he will do it right and I am sure glad I did!
He just finished installing automatic sprinkler system for my entire front and backyard. I have to say he is the BEST in the industry. He really delivers what he said and even more.

In February 2020, we hired Artisan Light & Landscape to complete a major overhaul of our front and backyard at our home in Lake Elsinore. I wish I could give more than 5 stars for Artisan Light & Landscape and for T. After having a bad experience with an unscrupulous contractor, I was referred to Artisan for the landscaping of my backyard. T came up with a design for me which included irrigation and drainage systems. Much of my budget was eaten up by the previous "contractor," but T was able to create a design that provided what I wanted and could afford. I'm so happy. Five stars is not enough for this business! Originally we broke a pipe from the house to the main. He stopped everything to fix this not so small repair. We were heading out of town, caught it before we left on a holiday week end and he was right on it as it meant when we returned we'd have no water to the house otherwise. He went under a flagstone walkway, didn't tear it up, which we so appreciated as we wanted to keep the integrity of the walkway up to the front porch area. T has been our “go to” landscape artist for a number of years now. In our most recent project, T designed and created a custom front yard patio for our home. We gave T a rough idea of what we were looking for and he used his artistic mastery to give us a beautiful patio for us to enjoy the mountain view and sunsets. My review was an honest one. I paid what I paid to Thomas and did not receive the service I have been used to. I expect for $6,000 that things are done right. Quite simply, they were not. Plants were killed and others not removed as agreed. I was perfectly willing to pay to have the sprinkler heads replaced, no expectation of free service. I expected a small charge to have the heads adjusted as stated in my previous review. I was given a thank you for your business, but I don't do repairs anymore. That was it. Not professional after 5 years of business and thousands of dollars beyond

T and his team did a fantastic job on our back yard landscape this week. The entire process was professional from the detailed plans he provided to the installation and clean up, everything was done as described without any surprises. We made a couple of changes in the middle of the work and T just made them with his creative input without a problem. We added work after he arrived and it did it for us graciously with minimal cost added. Very Fair! When he was finished, we were very pleased to find a few extras he did for us at no extra costs. I used Artisan Light & Landscape to re-complete my lawn due to having someone else only half complete it, and improperly. After we had our money stolen by the previous 'landscaper' we were very very hesitant to have our lawn done again, obviously because we didn't want to get burned again. Tee landscaped our front yard ... eliminated all the grass as well as a tree with roots under the whole yard ! While our yard is not huge, it was a huge undertaking. He provided professional drawings, listened to my input, did not try to "oversell" me. During the project, I wanted a change for the new sidewalk and he was happy to provide it. He and his people showed up when they said they would (novel concept for some contractors!) and finished when they said.
