Services
In 1981, the Sensor - French - Anderson Funeral Home in Decorah, Iowa was founded by Alan Sensor, Phil French and George Anderson. In 1982, Mark Balik became part of the funeral home and the name was changed to the French & Balik Funeral Home in 1988. Phil French retired in 1999 and sold to Dale and Karen Schluter, thus changing the name to the Schluter - Balik Funeral Home.

Staff members of Schluter-Balik Funeral Home & Cremation Service are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. Scott Helms was born in northern Michigan in 1981, the son of Jacob and Barbara Helms.
