At our hospital, veterinary care is provided to determine if birds or exotic pets have any potentially dangerous parasites or diseases and, if so, how they can best be treated. We are committed to providing avian and exotic pets with the same high quality care that we do dogs and cats.
Birds are well known for being slow to exhibit signs of disease, and for this reason it is recommended that birds be taken to see your veterinarian at least twice each year.Wellness exams, routine nail/wings/beak trims, nutrition and behavior consultations, diagnostic testing including bloodwork and x-rays are also available at our hospital.

Parasite prevention is essential for any pet! Ticks are serious in our area and are just one of the reasons we recommend parasite prevention all year round. As for other parasites, fleas, heartworms, and intestinal parasites also present in our area, we offer a range of parasite preventatives. We offer preventatives both in hospital and on our online pharmacy.
Dental cleaning under general anesthesia help prevent dental diseases such as gingivitis, dental calculi, tartar, and other medical infections caused from dental bacteria. Dental care, including routine professional cleanings by us and consistent home dental care has been shown to extend pet's lives by up to 25%!

I can not say enough wonderful things about Dr. Shokoff and his team. He is an extraordinarily talented AND compassionate vet (sadly the two don’t always go hand in hand). He also explains issues and options in terms someone like me can understand lol. And doesn’t push needless (and expensive!) procedures and tests on you and your pet unless they are truly called for (Ridgewood Vet Hospital, are you listening??).
His entire team are wonderful. Kind, compassionate , go out of their way to help you and your pet. I have recommended many pet families to Midland Park and they have ALL been happy

If there’s any vet you need to bring your pet to, it’s this one! I recently adopted a baby sun conure parrot and was looking for a reliable vet to have her first examination. Knowing birds are very delicate, I wanted to make sure that she was in good hands. I then stumbled upon this hospital and if I can give more than 5 stars for the experience, I would. The staff, vet techs and doctor were so welcoming and friendly. Dr. Shokoff is an amazing vet and handled my parrot with care and was very informative about treatment options as well as providing other useful information.

Having to find a new Veterinarian after 34 years is stress inducing, especially in an emergency. Dr. Shokoff and his entire team were wonderful. My kitty Frankie's surgery went extraordinarily well and the follow-up was great. Highly recommend my new vet!

Dr. Shokoff is the best vet around. One of the things we so appreciate as first time pet parents is that he takes the time to thoroughly explain everything to us, unlike some of the other vets we had seen before finding Dr. Shokoff. He's also extremely reasonable and fair in terms of billing and very personable with us and our dog. The whole team at Midland Park Vet Hospital is really great and we highly recommend them!
